TOUR OF FREEPORT BAHAMAS
A tour of Freeport bahamas while we where on vacation. Our driver (Kent Harvey) took us to a lot of nice place and was very knowledgeable about the island. We went shopping and visited historical sites.
The Bahamas are OPEN!! NYE 2020 Grand Bahama Island!!
Since the devastation of Hurricane Dorian, the islands of the Bahamas have been struggling to get back to normal, with much of the affected areas still recovering with a long road ahead of them. The good news is, you can still visit the other islands, and the closest one to West Palm, Florida is one of them!! 70% of Grand Bahama Island was flooded and affected by the hurricane, however the most visited areas have been spared and were able to recuperate quickly! I had an incredible time visiting this island; the people and the environment make this one of my favorite places in the world! Please enjoy my trip, and hopefully you can make a trip over yourself and help the island get back to normal by feeding their largest industry- tourism!

Grand Bahamas Travel Vlog - Freeport Foodie
What To Eat While In Freeport Bahamas - Grand Bahamas - Travel Vlog, Freeport Foodie. Had a great time trying Conch for the first time in Freeport Bahamas at the Port Lucaya Marketplace. If you are wondering what to do Freeport or what new foods to try, visiting Port Lucaya Marketplace and trying conch is a great idea. You can get here by taxi from the Cruise Port. If you walk to the back of the Marketplace by the marina, you will Big Daddy Browns which is a small yellow stand in the back. Delicious and great value. Way better price than at the other restaurants in the market.
Want to know where to get free access to a beach near Port Lucaya from the Marketplace without having to pay another taxi to the tourist beaches? I will show you how to get there is this video -

Lucayan National Park | Grand Bahama Tours
At Lucayan National Park, you will stand shoulder to shoulder with the spirits of the Arawak Indians who occupied this area hundreds of years ago and whose first encounter with the Europeans was believed to be with Christopher Columbus in 1492.
If botany is your pleasure, feel free to walk the many trails in Lucayan National Park and see native Bahamian plants like the Allamanda or the Tararind, a brown fruit often used for cooking among the Carribean cooks. Also in this spectacular 40 acre of native foliage, along those same native trails, you may catch a glimpse of a Bahamian Hutia, a small creature, not unlike a rat, who is native only to the Bahamas.
The park is famous for its caves, above and below ground. Above ground, visitors have reported that even now, bone fragments or pieces of pottery can be found in the caves where the natives once explored. One of the caves, is home to several thousands of bats. Below the surface is over six miles of charted caverns and tunnels, making it the longest underground tunnel system so far discovered in the world.
If you prefer, just relax and enjoy the beaches adjoining Gold Rock Beach. The clear blue waters are beautiful and noting like the beaches found in the United States. The Lucayan National Park is just an hour from Freeport and is accessible via guided tours or on your own. Take a cab, rent a car or a scooter and give yourself plenty of time to explore. You will find the Bahamian people friendly and helpful.

Exploring Lucaya Beach - VIDEO TOUR (Freeport, The Bahamas)
Checking out Lucaya Beach in Freeport! We took a Jitney (public bus) here and explored the beach a little! The water was really nice and so was the beach! As soon as we arrived, somebody tried to sell us a T-Shirt, and then some cocaine, and somebody also asked us to smell his good weed lol. If you can get away from the beach entrances where these guys hang, you'll have a nice time!

Lucaya Beach - Freeport Bahamas- across from Port Lucaya Marketplace
Lucaya Beach is in Freeport Bahamas across from Port Lucaya Marketplace. Across the street is a free beach, Lucaya Beach, behind the police station that most wont tell you about because they want you to take taxi to other beaches for more money. It was a cloudy day but still a nice way to see beach while stopping for a day during cruise. See our walk to beach and how to get there here.
