Focus DIY Crewe Closing Down
This is Crewe's Flagship Focus DIY on Grand Junction Retail Park, Earle Street in Crewe Cheshire during October 2010 in the run up to store closure.
We were one of the few lucky stores that closed before the eventual Company liquidation some 7 months later in May of 2011 as we had full redundancy packages which the loyal employees in other stores whom stayed until the very end did not get.

Crewe
Crewe is a railway town and civil parish within the unitary authority area of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. the area has a population of roughly 84,000. Crewe is perhaps best known as a large railway junction and home to Crewe Works, for many years a major railway engineering facility for manufacturing and overhauling locomotives, but now much reduced in size. From 1946 until 2002 it was also the home of Rolls-Royce motor car production. The Pyms Lane factory on the west of the town now produces Bentley motor cars exclusively.

Tour of Altrincham, Bridgewater and Atlantic Street Retail Park and Altrincham Business Park.
I’m here with another video and I’m doing another tour video. This time I’m doing a tour of a few retail parks in Altrincham. I thought of doing this because I was in Altrincham on Sunday, because I went to the cinema and I saw these retail parks and I thought of doing a tour of them. I handed my CV to a few of the stores including Dunelm Mill and B&M Bargains. I might have a better chance of getting jobs now that I’m 18 because some places that I’ve been to you have to be 18. Anyways that’s all I have to say for this video, thank you for watching and I will see you in the next one.

66182 on 6M28 Hatton, 01/11/11.
On the off chance I popped out for 6Z56 (EH-BS Grid drag), but found out it was over 200 late - ain't waiting for that this time of year. So, I hung on for the departmental and then did a runner.
First shot is of 66182 dragging 6M28 off the Hatton Bank loop with 66136 (DIT allocated Transfer) on Hinksey Yard - Bescot ES.
Second shot is of a motoring shed, possibly 66093 on 4M52 Soton - Castle Brom??
Third shot of one of the new LM 172's departing for Leamington (172342). Followed a Chiltern Mainline serivce flying through! Pushed by 67013.
Lastly, a Stratford - London service is seen coming off the single track branch and into Hatton station. With 168004.
I did miss the shot of 66420 ex-DRS on 0Z23 Crewe-Soton MT - oopsee!
Many thanks to Scruffwood for the company.

Burscough & Ormskirk a Case Study for Uverston
Until the arrival of Tesco's in Burscough Bridge, the village centre was a only used by very local people. Even I did all my shopping in nearby Ormskirk or Southport. Since Tesco's arrival the place has been transformed, with new shops, leisure facilities and other businesses. For more information visit us at ulverston-progress.org.uk
The number of food retailers has remained the same and independent shops are thriving. Supermarkets in the right place do not necessarily spell the death knell for town centres.
The video also looks at Ormskirk which has one of the largest street markets in the country. For more information visit us at ulverston-progress.org.uk
