Grandfather & Grandmother Rocks 2016 / Koh Samui / overflown with my drone

These amazing rock formations of Hin Ta and Hin Yai are on Koh Samui’s south coast, where many years ago, a group of locals made the discovery. The rocks are well known for resembling the male and female genitalia, thus they are known as Grandpa (Ta) and Grandma (Yai) respectively.
Set on the rocky southern coastline of Koh Samui, these unusual yet interesting rocks are one of the most popular spots on the island. This site is in between Lamai and Hua Thanon, therefore guests staying at Lamai beach area can easily access this site.
To reach these rocks, guests need to pass a short narrow passage lined with small shops, souvenir stores and stalls selling handmade items made from coconut and seashells.
According to several theories, Hin Ta and Hin Yai have been formed millions of years due to the wind and water. Several local tales are associated with the formation of these rocks; including one story, that the rocks are transformed bodies of an elder couple known as Ta Kang and Yai Riam.

We are at Chaweng Beach onthe tropical island of Koh Samui, a Thailand island located in the warm waters of the Gulf of Thailand. This Thailand holiday footage is filmed on Chaweng Beach, one of the top beaches on Koh Samui Island. Chaweng Beach located a few minutes drive from the Koh Samui Airport is located in the holiday beach town of Chaweng from where most areas of the island are easily accessible.

Chaweng Beach is the oldest of the popular tourist destinations found on the island and as a result it also is the most developed tourist offerings on the island with a booming town, easily competing with some of the better known towns located in Phuket further in the South such as Karon Beach, Kata Beach, Patong Beach etc.

Chaweng Beach is lined with hotels and guest houses all along it´s shore. There are many passages from where visitors can get to the beach between the restaurants and hotels lining the beach from the Chaweng Beach Road. Even though there are beach access passages it is more convenient to book accommodation at a hotel or guest house which lies directly on Chaweng Beach.

Chaweng Beach is located on the eastern side of Koh Samui Island and offers some of the islands most beautiful beaches which includes both the beautiful and warm clear water and the very white smooth sand. In July when the tides are lower than in the December season the beachfront areas is large and hotels and restaurants attract guests and customers with an ample supply of sun chairs on the beach.

Areas which lie close to Chaweng Beach include the two other popular tourist resort attractions found on the island called Bophut (in the north) and Lamai Beach further south. Lamai is a fantastic Beach where the sand is more yellow and course and is without doubt one of the favorite destinations of Scandinavians. Lamai Beach also offers a huge selection of hotels, guest houses, restaurants and bars but it is still it´s big older brother who offers more night life on the beach! The Ark Bar located on Chaweng Beach is very popular among the younger travelers, and music from this bar can also be heard until the early hours of morning (around 05:00 a.m. sometimes). Whatever your age Chaweng Beach is a fantastic holiday destination for anybody looking for a warm place to swim in a clear warm sea!

This footage is filmed on Chaweng Beach. Chaweng Beach is a beach located in the town of Chaweng. Chaweng is lovated on the Thai island of Koh Samui which is located in the Gulf of Thailand. The beach footage is filmed in the morning around 10:00 a.m in July while on an after breakfast walk on the beach. The footage is mainly from the northern and central part of Chaweng Beach and these are the areas where most of the activities take place.

WikiTravel writes, Chaweng is the largest and most popular of Samui's beaches, and is usually divided into four sections: North Chaweng, Central Chaweng, South Chaweng and Chaweng Noi (Little Chaweng) which is around a headland and at the southern most tip of Chaweng. Chaweng Beach is approximately 7 km long, making it the longest beach on the east coast. It is lined with coconut trees and boasts year long, warm (temperatures range between 25-28°C.) emerald-blue waters in the Gulf of Thailand...
