Team Panoply Turks and Caicos 2018 Offshore World Championship

Panoply represented the Turks and Caicos Islands in the 2018 Offshore World Championship, April 15 to 21. Finishing in 12th Place overall out of 51 teams from 30 different countries, we were only 500 points, or one marlin release, from the 3rd place spot! Having never circle hook fished or pitch baited for billfish,, this was a whole new style of fishing for us to learn...quickly. With such close competition over the 4 days of fishing we saw 7th Place on Day 1, 15th Place on Day 2, 5th Place on Day 3 and 12th Place on Day 4. A big congratulations to the Brazilian teams taking the top 3 spots and to all competing teams for putting on a good show. We're all champions having already won our local qualifiers to be at the OWC.

Not only was the fishing fantastic, but we met amazing captains, crews and anglers from all over the world. We also had the opportunity to explore Costa Rica experiencing the incredible culture, wildlife and people of this beautiful country. Thank you to our sponsors for helping us get there, the Offshore World Championship and their sponsors for putting on a great show and Carter and his team at Marina Pez Vela for being fantastic hosts. TCI Strong and Pura Vida! We'll be back Costa Rica...
