The stone forest (Shilin - Yunnan - China)
(EN) The Stone Forest or Shilin (Chinese: 石林; pinyin: Shílín) is a notable set of karst formations located in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province, People's Republic of China, approximately 120 kilometres (75 mi) from the provincial capital Kunming. The tall rocks seem to emanate from the ground in the manner of stalagmites, with many looking like petrified trees thereby creating the illusion of a forest made of stone. Since 2007, two parts of the site, the Naigu Stone Forest (乃古石林) and Suogeyi Village (所各邑村), have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites as part of the South China Karst. (wikipedia)

View of ZHENGHE Park and Memorial Hall of ZHENGHE, Jinning County, Kunming, Yunnan, China ????????
WHO ZHENGHE ????
Looking at the nice carving we recalled his great course of life. Zheng He was born in a Muslim noble family in 1371 and had a good family traditional education about his family history, the ocean sailing, the trade and the glory of his ancestors. He was captured as a war prisoner when he was only 11 and given to Prince Yan Zhu Di and was castrated to be a eunuch in Prince Yan Palace. He became a general chief of eunuchs in Emperor Yongle's Palace because he fought bravely and made meritorious contributions in Jingnan War to the establishment of Emperor Yongle's power ????
12 Breathtaking Photos of Jingbian Wave Valley, Shaanxi
In Longzhou Township, Jingbian County, Shaanxi Province, there is a little-known Danxia landform called “Wave Valley”, which unreservedly displayed a world of wonder shaped by wind, water and time over millions of years.
The unique Danxia landform are various landscapes found in China that consist of a red bed characterized by steep cliffs.
The texture lines of sandstone are ever-changing, some like waves, some like flowing water, spirals, and their shapes are unique.
It is said that the landscape is comparable with the Wave, a sandstone rock formation located in Arizona, United States.
These formations show different colors at different times and various shapes from different angles, looking grand and magnificent.
The complex bedding surface of the rocks in the Valley of Waves consists of huge sand tunes that have started to deposit since one hundred and fifty million years ago in the Jurassic Period.
The sand tunes continued to be covered by red sands which underground water has been impregnating layer by layer. After a considerable period of time, the mineral substances in the water condensed sands into sandstones and form a laminated structure.
Walking on along the traces of red stones, you will feel a very strong sense of visual impact and cannot help but exclaim over the superlative craftsmanship of Mother Nature.

2015 Shangrila 50km China
South West China keeps on delivering some of the most incredible venues for adventure running. This one is in the fabled Shangri-la area, in the foothills of the Himalayas. A great run with several testing climbs through altitudes of around 3600m, along with impressive views of the Meili snow mountains. The canyon run (around the 30km mark) is just so much fun. If you want to put a really special adventure on your run calendar then this is a must run event! Enjoy...
