Enjoy a look at some of the events we visited with the Arafua Games 2019. We went to the swimming at Parap which was lots of fun.
Then we visited the Arafura Games Muay Thai - that was noisy but everyone had a great time. The Arafura Games Boxing was very tough. At the Arafura Games Beach Volleyball we got to cheer on the Australian teams at the beach volleyball - Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi. All these events were held at the Darwin Waterfront precinct which made it great to see lots of events.
We had never seen Muay Thai or Boxing so to watch those events was awesome.
The best was left to last - watching the Top End NT mens and womens teams in the finals at the basketball. NT women played against Chinese Taipei and the mens played the Philippines.
#AG2019 was held in Darwin. Australia from 26th April to 4th May, 2019. The Arafura Games is an international multi-sport event that attracts participants from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond, attracting 1,500 visiting athletes, coaches and officials to Darwin, Australia.
Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Football (Soccer), Indoor Volleyball, Muaythai, Netball, Sailing, Sepak Takraw, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis and Weightlifting were all the sports at the Arafura Games #ag2019.

The Arafura Games fosters goodwill between sporting neighbours and shared sporting and cultural knowledge within the Asia-Pacific region. The Arafura Games 2019 features 17 sport disciplines, at various locations throughout Darwin, a lot of the events were held in the Darwin Waterfront precinct. Well-managed and signposted, this track has bridges and boardwalk to help keep walkers’ feet dry.
