The fair was first launched in 1985. The current one will last until Friday, where snacks and delicacies from northern China could be found and cultural performances, including Qing-style sacrificial ceremony, will be performed..
According to sources, the visitors number on Monday was 3.2 percent above that of last year and the number will be still increasing in the following days.

China Yunnan Kunming Grand View Park Trip (Photo Album)
Photos from my trip to Grand View Park (Daguan Park 大观公园) at Kunming of Yunnan Province, China. It features some beautiful shots of lotus flowers inside the park!
Daguan Park (simplified Chinese: 大观公园; traditional Chinese: 大觀公園; pinyin: Dàguān Gōngyuán) is a lakeside part located in the southwestern suburb of Kunming, Yunnan, China. Today many locals come to sit, drink tea, fly kites, and go boating. Among shady walks and pools, Daguan's focal point is Daguan Ge, a square, three-storeyed pavilion built to better the Kangxi Emperor's enjoyment of the distant Western Hills and now a storehouse of calligraphy extolling the area's charms. The most famous poem here is a 118-character verse, carved into the gateposts by the Qing dynasty scholar Sun Ran, reputed to be the longest set of rhyming couplets in China. The park is set on Daguan Stream, which flows south into Lake Dian, and there are frequent hour-long cruises down the waterway, lined with willows, to points along Lake Dian's northern shore. Lake Dian, also known as the Kunming Lake, is the largest lake on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. At Longmen of the Western Hills, there is a panoramic view of the lake.
Expats brave the cold to experience temple fairs, getting a taste of Spring Festival traditions
It's freezing cold outside in Beijing with strong winds, but foreign residents have braved the cold to join locals at temple fairs, getting a taste of some Spring Festival traditions. Temple fairs used to be an event for worship, in which people might pray for happiness, peace and good luck. The modern temple fair offers a wider variety of activities, such as eating, shopping and entertainment. CGTN’ Su Yuting brings you a report on a foreign-style international temple fair with a mixed culture and exotic performances.
