BGV Wellness Fair 2014
Breckenridge Grand Vacations hosted their third annual Wellness Fair on Tuesday, October 29, 2014 at the Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center in Breckenridge.
The Breckenridge Grand Vacations Wellness Fair is open to all employees and gives the option of a blood screening, blood pressure checks, and flu shots as well as the opportunity to visit various wellness based vendors. The BGV Wellness Fair also provides representatives available for consultation in regards to financial wellness, mental health, and physical fitness. .
Vice President of Information Technology and member of the BGV Wellness Committee, Brian Binge stated, “Breckenridge Grand Vacations is committed to providing resources to promote a healthy lifestyle for our employees. This annual event allows our employees to engage with different vendors and really learn ways to tune into their physical, mental and emotional wellness. He continued to say, that this is even a great way to get to know more about their overall health through the blood screening, especially for those that do not make it a point to get an annual physical.
This year 62% of all employees attended the BGV Wellness Fair. There were 271 attendees, of whom 263 participated in the blood analysis and health screening, and 132 people opted in for the free flu shot. The entire event was free for employees and only a small fee for spouses of employees. Currently, Breckenridge Grand Vacations has 320 full time employees, but with seasonal and contract workers, there are 434 total working for the company.
Of the 12 vendors in attendance, two companies were started by BGV employees, 24 Hour French Creek Fitness and Happy Heart Yoga. Owners of Happy Heart yoga, Jenna Duncan and Lauren Morrow, offered breathing exercises every hour on the hour at their booth. Other vendors included Breckenridge Family Dental, Breckenridge Mountain Safety, Bristlecone Health Services, Family Intercultural Resource Center, Howard Head Sports Medicine, Mind Springs Health, NorthWest Hearing, PANTS(Physical Activity & Nutrition Team of the Summit), St. Anthony Medical Center, and Strategies Financial Services. Complimentary chair massages were also given by massage therapists from Refresh Spa at Grand Timber Lodge and Soothe Spa, located inside Grand Lodge on Peak 7.
Employees were awarded “Wellness Dollars” for their participation in the event which can be applied to wellness-related activities and passes such as yoga, ski and rec center passes, massage, acupuncture, and more.
“This is just another way that we can ensure our employees are healthy. Healthy employees are happy employees, and we want our employees to be happy,” said Rob Millisor, Owner and Developer of Breckenridge Grand Vacations.
CPR yard action in Cambridge Ontario PART 2
After advancing and reversing in order to gain access to an adjacent yard siding, CPR GP 38-2's 3045 and 3057 along with GP9u 8223 power up and advance across the Elgin street pedestrian underpass. Once again, I believe this train was departing eastbound, however also once again, I was mistaken. After watching about three quarters of the train pass in front of me, the train once again ground to a halt. It was somewhat frustrating as I was hoping it would have continued on.
I thought it was neat how it went from loud to quiet so fast as the train ground to a halt. One moment there was lost of noise, the next, dead silence.
While not on camera, the train eventually reversed past my location, and later in the morning the tail end was spotted on the wye leading to the cambridge industrial spur
