On our Sept 2017 RV trip we spent three peaceful nights camping at Taylor Park on Granger Lake. Located about 30 miles east of Georgetown Texas and just 10 min north of Taylor Texas, Taylor Park is truly a hidden gem for RV camping.
Located on the banks of Granger Lake opportunities for fishing and hiking abound while camping in Taylor Park.
I was very surprised by the small number of campers in this great park on a beautiful weekend in Sept. Taylor Park is managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. I just happened to stumble upon this great park quite by accident and am so glad that I did!

We had such a great time watching the filming of this movie. It was so exciting seeing Mark Wahlburg in action as that little car would race up the street and up over the bridge with a film van following. They did it over and over again. It's so exciting seeing your hometown in a movie. You'll see the same streets, old buildings and BBQ joint in the movie Lonestar State of Mind which was also filmed in and around Taylor, TX.

There are no Tours Available for the house however we did get some actual real footage of the house. In fact this is also the house where the police footage news report was taken of Thomas Brown Hewitt Leatherface Killed 2 Travis County Sheriff Officers on Scene in August of 1972. We still think to this day the real house Story is a real story...
