The Kids Around Perth Reporter and Junior Reporters climbed all the way to the top of the Leaning Tower of GinGin at the Gravity Discovery Centre carrying water balloons (well I had to carry one of our Junior Reporters all the way up!) We had so much fun dropping them through the tubes and watching them fall all the way to the ground!

The Gravity Discovery Centre is home to the Gingin Leaning Tower - 45 minutes north of Perth along the Sunset Coast.
And you guessed it, it is all about gravity! See what happens to a watermelon when it gets dropped off the top of the tower!

On excursion with the Glyde In Community Education Center to GinGin late winter to the Gravity Center ,a multi million dollar scientific infrastrucure built as a critical link as one of six global stations . It is designed to detect gravity waves .. miniscule energy waves from intrstellar big stuff ! , the signature and nature of which is the subject of this search . The center is open to the public and I can say we all gravitated well to the whole day . Included are some not so flash photos taken in the native garden for identification purposes .. these are in 1080 HD andtus much detail can be seen when zoomed in on the original.

CARAVAN TRIP 2007 The GDC is an inspirational self supporting, non-profit public and tourism centre that focuses on the big questions of Life and the Universe, and the extraordinary biodiversity of Wallingup Plain. The GDC is situated alongside the Australian International Gravitational Observatory (AIGO) on Military Road in the Shire of Gingin, just north of Yanchep. Open Tuesday to Sunday 9.30am - 5.30pm 9.30am - 5.00pm Open public holiday Mondays. Closed Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. The Gravity Discovery Centre, as the public education arm of the Australian International Gravitational Observatory (AIGO), is situated on Military Road, Wallingup Plain between Yanchep and Gingin in the Shire of Gingin. This is approximately one hours drive north of Perth (see map). The drive along Wanneroo Road will take visitors past Yanchep National Park. The facilities are located on a sand plain ecosystem in pristine banksia bushland as part of the Dept. of Conservation and Land Management's State Forest No. 65. The Gravity Discovery Centre is a non-profit public and tourism astrophysics centre including gravity wave research by the Australian International Gravitational Observatory that focuses the largest telescopes in Western Australia on dark matter and dark energy of the Universe, from the Wallingup Plain environment near Gingin north of Perth Australia.
The Gingin Gravity Precinct
An international effort to develop and construct a gravitational wave detector in Gingin, Western Australia has been proposed. The detector would form part of an international gravitational wave detector array involving more than 1000 physicists around the world. This film looks at some of the astrophysics, science and industry benefits of building such a detector.
