Giants Causeway Day Trip from Dublin
The first stop on the Giant’s Causeway Tour is a visit to Dunluce Castle, which is precariously perched on the cliffside, and is indeed once the home of the notorious McDonnell clan! Part of the day tour package includes a self-guided tour of Dunluce where you will get an insight into its fascinating history and peerless family who owned it.
Next stop is The Giants Causeway which is the highlight of the trip. This UNESCO World Heritage site consists of a series of over 40,000 hexagonal shaped rocks that looks like a grand set of stairs leading into the sea. This formation has been astounding generations. These awe-inspiring stones have resulted in inspiring many a myth and stories surrounding their origin. Your guide will just be happy to tell you stories in full technicolour!
Next, you visit and cross the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge which connects a 23 metre deep and 20-metre wide chasm between the mainland and a small island. This has been used over the years by fishermen to place netting to capture migrating salmon. Following a 20-minute scenic cliff walk, you can traverse the bridge to the island with its abundance of birdlife, and to enjoy the spectacular coastal views from a different vantage point.
Finally, you will visit the Dark Hedges, a picturesque tree-lined road that looks as if it comes straight out of a storybook. The Dark Hedges represents the King’s Road in the famous television series The Game of Thrones and is an avenue of beech trees with branches hanging over the road.

Ireland & Northern Ireland 15/03/18 – 19/03/18
Here are the highlights from our St. Patrick’s Day long weekend in Dublin. What an experience to be on the streets and in the pubs to take in all the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. It was definitely a boozy weekend with many pubs explored along the way and pub games taught by Justin. Ireland has a beautiful landscape and we were lucky to have a snowfall which made the scenery even more stunning. We did two Day Tours, one drove across Ireland (East to West) to the famous Cliffs of Moher where scenes from PS. I Love You and Harry Potter were filmed; the other crossed the border to Northern Ireland and we saw some famous Game of Thrones filming locations. Enjoy :)

Luas Dublin trams filmed in 2007 in action on the red line from Connolly to Talaght. The line opened in 2004 with 26 3 section Alstom Citadis trams, in 2007 a programme was started to add another 2 sections to the trams, extending them from 30 metres to 40 metres long. Most of the trams in this film are still 3 section with only a couple being 5 section.
