The remains of the Spaniard Inn on the A3 near Grayshott
HD Drone footage (DJI Phantom 3 Pro) of the remains of the Spaniard Inn, long a landmark on the A3 between Hindhead and Liphook. Originally it was the Seven Thorns and frequented by the Canadian Army Service Corps that made camp behind it in WWI - the Canadians returned in WWII. The camp was known as Bramshott Camp
It (as can be seen) has had all sorts of additions to the structure over the years, but the original brickwork still remains as the facade and main rooms at the front and right (as seen).
By the 1990's it was slowly deteriorating, the A3 was re-laid as a dual-carriageway (and scandalously obliterated the Maples that were planted to commemorate the Canadians sacrifice in both wars) - scaffolding appeared - and has stayed there ever since.
The building seen to the right (North) was the HQ of the Canadian Army during the wars.

Breakfast is served Monday to Friday from 7:00am until 9:00am and on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am until 10:00am. What transport is available to get around?We are not on a public transport route, but there is a taxi rank at the nearest train stations (Farnham or Haslemere) which is 4 miles.
