The world's largest wood-carved Quran measures 1.77 by 1.40 metres (5.8 by 4.6 feet) and can be found in the Indonesian city of Palembang, as shown in footage from Thursday.
The Quran's creator, Shofwatillah Mohzaib, reportedly created the holy book in the form of 30 Quranic juz – traditional divisions of the Quran - in nine years.
Footage shows devotees praying in front of the Quran and examining its inscriptions up close.
After I arrived here and saw it with my own eyes, praise to God Almighty, that this is true, it is a very big Quran and I am so amazed by it, devotee Mrs. Idah said.

A Tourist's Guide to Palembang, Sumatra, INDONESIA
Another of my quick trips from Jakarta - this time: Palembang, 6th biggest city in Indonesia, located in Sumatra, and a place I'd never heard off until about a month prior to me flying there.
After checking into the Novotel, I grab a ride and head off to see the sights: the Musi River, the fort, the Great Mosque, Monpera Monument and, of course, the Ampera Bridge. I also hire a boat for a quick trip, which proves to be the highlight of the whole trip.

Walking Around ~ Jembatan Ampera Brigde Palembang samping Pasar 16 Ilir ~ Sungai Musi Palembang
Walking MAp :
Ampera Bridge (Indonesian: Jembatan Ampera, for Amanat Penderitaan Rakyat, a now-rarely-used colloquial name for the preamble of the Constitution of Indonesia), formerly Bung Karno Bridge (Indonesian: Jembatan Bung Karno, after President Sukarno) between its opening and 1966, is a vertical-lift bridge in the city of Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia. It connects Seberang Ulu and Seberang Ilir, two regions of Palembang. It can no longer be opened to allow ships to pass.
The bridge was planned during the era of Indonesia's first president, Sukarno, who wanted a bridge that could open and be a match for London's Tower Bridge. The funds for the construction came from Japanese war reparations, with Fuji Heavy Industries being given responsibility for design and construction. However, at the time, Japan had no bridges of this type, and Fuji Heavy Industries had no bridge-building experience. The official opening was carried out by Minister and Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Ahmad Yani on 30 September 1965, only hours before he was killed by troops belonging to the 30 September Movement. At first, the bridge was known as the Bung Karno Bridge, after the president, but following his fall, it was renamed the Ampera Bridge
Bastari.
