Road to 150: Best Things To Do In The Yukon
In this video, we share some of the best things to do in the Yukon, including Whitehorse, Dawson, Kluane National Park, and more!
Welcome to the Yukon!
Known for its dramatic landscapes, vast wilderness, and the famous Klondike Gold Rush, the Yukon has been capturing people's imaginations for years. With four-legged creatures far outnumbering humans, Canada's tallest mountain peaks, and the world's largest non-polar glacier, the Yukon is a true paradise for adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts.
We started our journey in Whitehorse, the Yukon's capital city. From here, we toured the SS Klondike, ate some delicious food in Whitehorse's oldest buildings, saw heaps of wildlife, and caught a glimpse of the Northern Lights. We then went to Dawson, the worlds most famous gold rush town. While walking around the old boardwalk streets was incredible enough, we also went gold panning, toured the massive dredge #4, watched a Cancan show at the oldest casino in the country, and took a river cruise on a paddle-wheeler. We then drove up the infamous Dempster Highway all the way to Eagle Plains, past the Arctic Circle and into the Northwest Territories. After coming back and spending another night in Dawson, we drove to Kluane National Park for one of the most epic flightseeing tours we've ever experienced.
We explored the Yukon from August 16 - September 6th, 2017!

Best Things To Do In The Northwest Territories - Canada Road Trip Travel Documentary
In this video, we share some of the best things to do in the Northwest Territories, including Yellowknife, Inuvik, and Tuktoyaktuk!
Welcome to the NWT!
With more than one million square kilometres of land area and a population of less than 50,000, the Northwest Territories is about as wild as it gets. It's certainly not an easy area to visit (many places are fly-in, many roads are gravel, and distances are vast) but for those who make the effort, there are incredible things to experience.
With boreal forest, arctic tundra, some of Canada's greatest waterfalls, a vibrant indigenous culture, and boundless wilderness, this is an adventurers paradise!
We explored the NWT from August 16 - September 1st, 2017!

Episode 2: Backcountry skiing in the White Pass (Hors des sentiers battus)
Note: If you would like English subtitles, please select the subtitles/CC icon.
This series is part of the Yukon Digital Storytelling Project, a collection of three original web series told from a uniquely Yukon perspective.
In this webisode of Hors Des Sentiers Battus (English: “Off The Beaten Path”), we follow Simon as he joins Annick Chassé and Claude Vallier on a backcountry ski trip in the historic White Pass in southern Yukon Territory. The three friends camp out and enjoy skiing through spectacular scenery in this famous setting near the Chilkoot Trail that connected hopeful gold prospectors coming from Skagway, Alaska, to the southern lakes of the Yukon River system during the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush. Longtime friends Annick and Claude have skied this area extensively and bring their knowledge and passion along on this exciting adventure. Hop aboard Simon’s yellow school bus as they share their love of skiing, nature, history, and the majestic wilderness that Yukon has to offer!
The Series
The series follows twelve months of the life of Simon D’Amours as he travels the Yukon Territory driving and living out of a yellow school bus. As he hits the road, he finds other people that, like him, live life out of the ordinary by following their passions in the great Canadian North-West.

The City of Gold: Celebrating 25 Years of the Yellowknife Community Foundation
Twenty-five years ago, the Yellowknife Community Foundation began with a simple concept – that people working together can make a difference.
From our humble beginnings in 1993, we have grown to inspire and help to build a healthy and resilient community.
The work that we do and the contributions you make are our way to give back for the enduring future.
Wherever we invest, we work to enhance the quality of life in our community and our goal is to make sure that your donation has a lasting impact long after the original gift was made.
We’re working to help end poverty; promote arts and culture, sport and recreation and community development; we support quality education and promote good health and well-being and so much more.
Yellowknife is the city with a golden past and a brilliant future.
Over the next year, we invite you to join us in celebrating our 25th anniversary and to look beyond the horizon to what the next 25 years could bring.
We are the Yellowknife Community Foundation.
This is our story.
