Our walk starts by the Visitor Centre in Apollo Bay – and winds out through the town to the beach-side suburb of Marengo. Continuing onwards the countryside becomes more rural farmland. The trail continues up a small hill and onto the coast.
There are good views along the coast from a conveniently placed rest bench, followed by a steep descent onto another beaches along the path.
The walk gives you the option to walk around the rock platform and beaches or follow the trail through the Park and along sandy foreshore and boardwalks.

GREAT OCEAN WALK PART 1 OF 2
Part 2-
The great ocean walk is way down south of Victoria, and it's about 100km all up. Its one of Australias best walks, so I filmed the walk on a GoPro Hero 4, charging it along the way with a small solar panel from NOCO. The first three days our packs were trailered to the campsite as they were the longest walking days. We wanted to get the hike done quicker so we hiked to the second campsites for the first days. After day three we had to carry our packs, but went to the first campsites on the map, making it a shorter walk. I slept in a SnowPeak Fal 2 tent, with a Snowpeak Sleeping bag. The pack i carried was a Boreas Halo, was perfect size for the hike, carried everything i needed and was very comfortable on the track. I also carried a small MacPac day pack for the first three days. The walk ended at the 12 apostles, a great tourist attraction in Australia and from there we were picked up and driven back to Apollo Bay.
The GOW offers many different terrain types like dirt tracks, sandy beaches, rocky coastline and rainforest. Everyday was a different experience on the track, with incredible views all the way along.
Rate it a 10/10. Keep and eye out for Part 2 coming soon!

GREAT OCEAN ROAD AUSTRALIA / TORQUAY / BELLS BEACH / APOLLO BAY
Our Great Ocean Road adventure started! We drove to Apollo Bay and stopped pretty often to see the beautiful Torquay, Bells Beach, and other places. There are plenty of lookout points along the Great Ocean Road. Oh, and most important: I saw my first Koala ;)

4K Great Ocean Road ➞ Apollo Bay AUSTRALIA Part 3 オーストラリア
The Great Ocean Road is an Australian National Heritage listed 243-kilometre (151 mi) stretch of road along the south-eastern coast of Australia between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Allansford. Built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932 and dedicated to soldiers killed during World War I, the road is the world's largest war memorial.
The road traverses rainforests, as well as beaches and cliffs composed of limestone and sandstone, which is susceptible to erosion.[4][5] The road travels via Anglesea, Lorne, Apollo Bay, and Port Campbell, the latter being notable for its natural limestone and sandstone rock formations including Loch Ard Gorge, The Grotto, London Arch (formerly London Bridge) and The Twelve Apostles.
The road is an important tourist attraction in the region.

The Great Ocean Walk - Victoria - Australia
Great Ocean Road Walk - Strap on your walking boots and hit the spectacular Great Ocean Walk. Taken as a multiday adventure, the east-to-west epic has been labelled a 'mild to wild' journey as its remoteness and ruggedness increases the further towards the 12 Apostles you step.
Stretching from the seaside village of Apollo Bay west to the 12 Apostles, the Great Ocean Walk passes along a dramatic coastline of soaring cliffs and remote beaches, with tangents exploring giant eucalypt forests full of kangaroos, wallabies and koalas, and meandering estuaries brimming with birdlife. Then there are the beach stretches where whale sightings are common.
Walkers who tackle a multiday experience stay in on-trail campsites or enjoy the comforts of B&Bs, hotels or lodge accommodation easily accessible from the numerous trailheads along the way. The sea and landscapes are layered by fascinating historical elements from the Indigenous connections to that of the pioneers and their tales of shipwrecks.

Seafarers Getaway Apollo Bay | Where to Stay on the Great Ocean Road
Seafarers Getaway is 4 star, 20 roomed hotel in Apollo Bay on the beautiful Great Ocean Road in Victoria. If you are looking for some good accommodation on the Great Ocean Road, Seafarers Getaway offers some upmarket stylish rooms with amazing view of the ocean. I stayed in one of their studio rooms which come complete with kitchen (mini bar, microwave, cooktop, cooking utensils, sink and coffee/tea making facilities), cable TV, free Wi-Fi and modern bathroom. There are huge glass sliding doors giving perfect views of the ocean.
The hotel is only a 5 minute or so drive away from Apollo Bay town, where you can find ATMs, shops, supermarket, restaurants and cafes.
For best room rates at Seafarers Getaway Resort, take a look at sites such as Trivago, Hotelscombined, Tripadvisor or even Seafarers Getaway Website (shown in video). For the time I stayed I found the rates basically the same on most booking sites. I had points with Agoda, so I used them.
For me Seafarers is a great resort in Apollo Bay if you are looking for something upmarket. It would make for a great weekend getaway from Melbourne as well as romantic getaway. It was so relaxing to walk down to the beach and feel the ocean breezes. This is my review of the resort.
The Great Ocean Road is one of Australia’s most spectacular drives. With fantastic ocean views, making it one of Australia’s top tourist attractions. One of the must things to do in Victoria. There are plenty of places to visit including the famous Twelve Apostles, Cape Otway Lighthouse (where I saw a wild koala by the side of the road), Loch Ard Gorge and just some beautiful look outs along the road. This is my mini guide to the Great Ocean Road, for more info please check the websites listed in the video.
