SUMMARY
=======
This is a list of all lighthouses in the U.S. state of Massachusetts as identified by the United States Coast Guard. Enumeration of the lighthouses in this state is complicated by the number of multiple tower stations and replacement of older towers, with the Brant Point Light station having had nine towers, two of which survive. At present there are forty-seven active towers, of which eleven are privately maintained; thirteen are standing but inactive, seven have been replaced with skeleton towers, thirteen have been destroyed or removed, and one tower has been moved to another state. The oldest station, Boston Light, established in 1716, was the first lighthouse built in the colonies, and the current tower at that station, built in 1783, is the oldest survivor in the state and the second oldest in the nation, and was the last lighthouse automated in the United States. The last station established was at the Buzzards Bay Entrance Light in 1961 (since replaced by an automated light on a steel tripod), but in 1986 the 1818 Great Point Light was rebuilt and relit, making it the last tower constructed in the state. The tallest towers in the state are the two Cape Ann Light towers, but the highest focal plane is at the Hospital Point Range Rear Light, which is located in the steeple of the First Baptist Church of Beverly.A number of inactivated Massachusetts lights have met with unusual fates. The Three Sisters of Nauset were sold off to separate private buyers before being purchased by the National Park Service and moved back near their original site. Range lights in Nantucket and Hyannis were incorporated into private dwellings, the former housing the Gilbreth family of Cheaper by the Dozen fame. The Point Gammon Light was converted into an observation tower for birdwatching.
If not otherwise noted, focal height and coordinates are taken from the United States Coast Guard Light List, while location and dates of activation, automation, and deactivation are taken from the United States Coast Guard Historical information site for lighthouses.

Kevin Spacey arraignment on indecent assault and battery charges in Nantucket, MA
Actor Kevin Spacey will be arraigned in a Nantucket, Massachusetts courtroom this morning on indecent assault and battery charges. The actor allegedly sexually assaulted the then-18-year-old son of former Boston news anchor Heather Unruh in the summer of 2016. The charge represents the first criminal case against the actor, who was fired from his role on Netflix's 'House of Cards' after several sexual misconduct allegations were leveled against him.

Sun , sand and Weekends - Cape cod, Massachusetts - Vlog 4
Cape Cod is a geographic cape extending into the Atlantic Ocean from the southeastern corner of mainland Massachusetts, in the northeastern United States. A great place with plenty of beaches. A few moment's to share from my time at the tip of the cape at the race point beach.
A perfect place for family outings and a must visit if you are a sucker for blue beaches. Had a great time playing some beach volleyball. Couldn't get deep into the water since there was a shark alerts. But who really cares? ????
I love sharks ????????

Race Point at Provincetown
The unusual events of a spit barrier beach created by littoral drift and glaciers: when the colors of the winter sky match that of the purplish sands. This is a temporal event, here one day, gone the next. The trip from Provincetown Harbor around Wood End light, past Long Point to Herring Cove and Hatches Harbor is worth the trip, if long. In April, whales feed in the race, and are highly visible. This is a good time of year: tourist season has not yet begun and there is very little boat traffic. You have the waters and shores largely to yourself. Moreover the view west, towards Duxbury and Plymouth and the contours of the South Shore.

THE FUTURE OF CITIES
This is a conversation starter first, a video second. I’d love to hear your thoughts on cities, the future, and this project.

* Note that the first shot in the movie a Garbage Truck in Taipei is actually in Changhua City, also in Taiwan. Thank you Taiwanese friends for pointing this out!
Thank you to everybody who contributed! Trust me when I say that even if I didn’t get your footage in the cut, we can feel it in the finished product. I want to keep telling urban stories and building on these ideas - hope you do too. Knowledge is Power.
