Cycling Great Southern Rail Trail is a 5 minute 720p hi-def video about cycling 78km from Leongatha via Fish Creek to Port Welshpool, in Victoria Australia. I would like to thank Peter, Andy and Pete for their assistance in filming this video in November 2016. Gippsland gets a lot of rain and wind in the Spring, so I suggest you do this ride in the Summer or Autumn.

An August 2017 ride of the Great Southern Rail Trail, Leongatha to Port Welshpool. Gravel,clay,hard and soft sand riding surface.

The Great Southern Rail Trail - South Gippsland

This trail is suitable for both the energetic and not-so-energetic outdoor enthusiast. Traverse lush farmland, historic bridges and native vegetation. Seize the opportunity to explore the villages spread along the trail. You will be amazed at the unique stories and experiences they offer, as well as the terrific coffee, shopping and dining opportunities.
The full trail takes you from Leongatha to Port Welshpool and is 72kms in total but it's been thoughtfully broken into sections that each has its own charms.

A 103km, 9-hour bike ride along The Great Southern Rail Trail from Leongatha to Foster and back again.

The plan was to cycle from Leongatha to Foster along the GSRT. Seven k in my derailleur suffered a major breakdown. So, just the start of the trail and a 7k walk back to Leongatha with an undecidable bike.
