Singapore Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Singapore – an island city-state that has blossomed into one of the world’s great global cities. Getting to know this pocket powerhouse is a must for travelers seeking the blend between energy and tradition.
When ready, browse vacation packages to Singapore:
Small and heavily populated, #Singapore is an easy place to #explore; nothing in the city is more than an hour from the business district. Thanks to modern construction and outstanding architecture, Singapore is rapidly becoming a powerhouse trade city, but it maintains ties to its Asian roots through traditional temples and many cultural hotspots.
Your Singapore #tour must include the Botanical Gardens and Orchid Gardens, both beautiful and notable places to visit. If you’re a fan of exotic animals, stop by the Singapore Zoo and check in with its 300-plus species. You can also take a “bumboat” from Changi Beach to Pulau Ubin, set away from the bustling city, and delight in its quiet mangroves.
No Singapore #vacation is complete without a visit to Marina Bay, a glowing, high-tech vision of the future, or Orchard Road, which boasts enough shopping to keep you occupied for several rainy afternoons.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

Singapore Zoo , World´s Best Zoo! (maybe) - Singapore Top Attractions - Singapore Travel Vlog
Singapore Travel Vlog. We are in Singapore at the Singapore Zoo, one of Singapore´s Top Attractions to visit while you are here. This video takes you on a full tour of the Singapore Zoo and shows you what this zoo is like and what type of animals it has. The Singapore Zoo is without a doubt one of Singapore´s Top Tourist Attractions and is in our opinion probably one of the World´s Best Zoos to visit!
Singapore 4K Videos. According to Tripadvisor the Singapore Zoo is one of the World´s Best Zoo´s. Traveller´s Choice Awards list the Best Zoos in the world as 10. Henry Doorly Zoo 09. Bioparc Valencia 08. Tiergarten Schoenbrunn - Zoo Vienna 07. St. Louis Zoo 06. Chester Zoo 05. Prague Zoo 04. ZooParc de Beauval and Number 03. is the Singapore Zoo 02. San Diego Zoo and the World´s Best Zoo is the Loro Parque Zoo.
So that means that Singapore Zoo is the 3rd Best Zoo in the world a placement which is very well deserved. We really enjoyed the many hours we spent exploring this wonderful Singapore Attraction - don´t miss it as the Singapore Zoo is without doubt one of Singapore´s Top Attractions.
Some of the animals we saw and that are included in this Singapore Zoo video include Tigers, White Tigers, Elephants, Orangutans, Bats, Birds, Giraffes, Hippo, snakes (King Cobra & Gaboon Viper), Kangaroos, various Monkeys, Meerkats, Otter, Pengun, Bears, Rhino, Tortoise, Chimpanzee, Warthog, Zebra and many many other animal, bird and reptile species. Unfortunately we did not see Singapore Zoo´s most famous polar bear Inuka.
Unfortunately we did not have time to do the River Safari or the Night Safari. When you visit the Singapore Zoo be sure to get there early as the Zoo is huge and you are going to need lots of time if you want to see everything.

Welcome to Singapore, one of the smallest countries in the world. Singapore is an island state located off the southern tip of the Malaysian peninsula in Southeast Asia.
Besides being the world’s 2nd wealthiest country (second only to Qatar), Singapore is extremely clean and safe, boasting superior air quality and of course tons of great things to see, do and eat!
Welcome to Gardens by the Bay one of the most amazing and botanical gardens in the world. A few things you can see here is the flower dome, the cloud forest, several gardens and the supertrees.
The Supertrees are living and breathing sculptures rising above the gardens. For epic views, head up to the top of these supertrees and stroll along the 22-meter-high aerial walkway known as the Skyway to experience the Marina Bay area from a bird’s eye view.
Next up we visit China Town! It's a great place to do some souvenir shopping, eat some local Chinese food and walk around.
One of the highlights about visiting Singapore is to eat at a hawker center. This is a huge food court full of stalls. You need to eat Indian, Malaysian and Chinese. It's very inexpensive!
The Marina Bay Sands Hotel is one of Asia’s most iconic buildings and home to the world’s most renowned infinity pool. To visit the pool you must be a guest of the hotel, but you can experience incredible views from the Skypark observation deck or from one of the 57th floor restaurants.
Welcome to the Singapore Zoo! It was founded in 1973, we take a quick tour through the zoo to see the asian animals. Singapore Zoo was the first zoo in the world to have free roaming orangutans.
The River Safari is located right next to the Singapore Zoo. It’s a fascinating journey through some of the world’s largest river systems like the Nile and the Mississippi. I was especially excited to visit the Giant Panda Forest.
We are inside Thian Hock Keng Temple. It was constructed in the 1840s using the best materials from China at the time. In 1973 it was declared a national monument. Admission is free!
Orchard Road is a major tourist attraction, and when you look around it’s easy to see why. This is where you come for some serious retail therapy, and with more than 10 shopping centers, there is plenty to choose from. The 20-storey Paragon is perhaps the most famous along the strip, with stores like Gucci, Prada and Burberry. It boasts over 200 stores in all.
The Singapore Flyer is the worlds largest observation wheel. This ferris wheel has 28 capsules, each fits 28 people and it takes 28 minutes to do a complete rotation.
Little India is where the Indian community settled in over 200 years ago. Now a days it is a commercial district. They have converted these shop houses into restaurants, shops, jewelry stores and offices. It's a great place to buy gold and try indian food!
Singapore’s Changi Airport is second to none! You may actually want to have a layover here because of how many things there are to do – from a butterfly garden, to shopping and dining, relaxation areas, movie theatre, art installations, a swimming pool, and much much more.
Changi is my favorite airport in the world!

This is SINGAPORE ????????Is this the BEST City in the World? Travel Guide to the City
Last week we searched for the best views in Singapore and this week we continued to explore the beautiful city while trying to find the best things to do in Singapore.
Our hotel (Hotel Indigo Katong- was situated in the historic neighbourhood of Katong so we decided to set out to explore the area. We came across one of the most instagramable place in the city called Koon Seng Road, with historic shophouses in loads of bright colours, this is not to be missed in Singapore.
From there we came across a Hawker Food Centre called Dunman Food Centre. We tried a dish we hadn’t had previously called Duck Noodles.
After this we made our way to Marina Bay Sands to the Cloud Forest, which is an indoor parklike greenhouse featuring many exotic plants, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, and a walkway that reaches high up into the highland like setting. We thankfully timed our visit with the “mist” that blankets the plants a few times each day.
Once we were done at the Cloud Forest we headed over to the Art Science Museum to visit their exhibit called Future World. The highlight of the exhibition was the last part called Space where you feel like you are surrounded by stars and constellations from fibre optic type lights hanging all around you.
Finally we finished the day at Haji Lane. An “indie” type neighbourhood with great cafes, street art, boutiques and restaurants- we spend the rest of the day exploring this unique street in Singapore.
Singapore:
Singapore is one of the smallest countries in the entire world, but it is also one of the most exciting and prettiest places in the world.
Singapore, has many things for you to enjoy, and it is constantly evolving, and reinventing itself. Singapore is one of the best places if you like to explore, try new food, enjoy cultural spaces, socialise and look for adventures. It is one of the most interesting and innovative places all around the world.
Koon Seng Road
Go northwards from the temple to the corner of Tembeling and Koon Seng Roads. Along the small road, you’ll find some of Singapore’s prettiest heritage shophouses. The ones here are painted in elegant pastel hues, and bear reliefs, motifs and other intricate flourishes upon their façades. You will find the views incredible, and the atmosphere traditional and warm.
Dunman Food Centre
Dunman Food Centre is unique in that it is a very relaxed environment. Unlike the typical rushed vibe in most other food centres there is almost no rush here.
It’s small but it sure packs a punch with many good food stalls available, most of them as good as the best in Singapore
Cloud Forest
Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay is up there with Singapore’s most impressive attractions. This staggering greenhouse-like glass dome can be seen from miles away, and is just as stunning inside as it is from out. Its smaller brother, Flower Dome, also makes up the pair of giant man-made structures, but it is the larger, climate controlled Cloud Forest that attracts the most visitors with its jaw-dropping architecture, spiralling walkways from the top and the world’s tallest indoor waterfall that rains down from over 100 feet above
Art Science Museum
As the name suggests, ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands beautifully fuses art and science to tell fascinating stories. This premier venue houses a constantly changing line-up of major international touring exhibitions, brought in through collaborations with organisations such as the American Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian Institute and world-renowned furniture designer Herman Miller.
Haji Lane
This tiny lane, hidden away in the heart of the Muslim quarter, is a fashionista's paradise. With very little fanfare, the collection of narrow shop-houses have, in less than a year, been transformed into an aggressively hip retail stretch recalling Le Marais in Paris or New York's Meatpacking District.

Huge thanks to the Singapore Tourism Board:
FEATURED IN THIS VIDEO:
Hotels:
-Hotel 81 (multiple locations…good budget hotel options. Not fancy, but clean with a private bathroom)
-Beary Best! Hostel (Chinatown)
Food:
Below are some of my favorite places…all highly recommended, but honestly…the key is to find a stall with a long line of locals…that’s the best indication of what’s good. It’ll be worth waiting for:)
Featured Hawker Centres:
-Maxwell Food Centre
-Old Airport Road Food Centre
-Chinatown Complex
-Tiong Bahru Market
-Lau Pa Sat Food Court (Specifically the satay stalls on the street outside the main centre)
-Chinatown Food Street
Featured Food Stalls:
Maxwell Food Centre:
-Ah Tai Chicken Rice (THE BEST)
-Tian Tian Chicken Rice
-Zhen Zhen Porridge
-Marina Bay Delicious Foods (Get their Char Kway Teow)
Old Airport Road:
-Roast Paradise (Char Su with Pork Rice)
-Xin Mei Xiang Zheng Zong Lor Mee
Chomp Chomp Food Centre:
-Ah Hok Fried Hokkien Noodles (there can be a long wait for this stall)
-Hai Wai Yuan BBQ (Sambal stingray)
Chinatown Complex:
-Lian He Ben Ji Claypot Rice (Mixed claypot)
-Jia Ji Mei Shi (Get the Chee Cheong Fun)
-Hawker Stan (There will be a long line starting before 10AM)
Lau Pa Sat:
-Stall 8 on Satay street (Stall #8 is by far the best of them)
Little India:
-Komala Vilas Vegetarian Restaurant (Order anything and everything…but I come here for the Dosai…but seriously…everything is amazing)
-Jaggi’s Northern Indian Cuisine (Again…everything is incredible. I love the butter chicken, and make sure to get some of their incredible made-to-order naan bread)
Tiong Bahru:
-Loo’s Hainanese Curry Rice (just…friggin’ delicious. Definitely go here if you’re in Tiong Bahru)
Tiong Bahru Bakery (Everything here is great…the croissants in particular are flaky and perfect)
Spago:
Top of Tower 2 at Marina Bay Sands. Good drinks and very good food…great views of the city. The menu is super spendy. But it’s one of the best burgers in the city.
THINGS TO DO:
-Gardens By the Bay
-Singapore Botanic Gardens (& Orchid Garden)
-Marina Bay Sands
-Sentosa
-Lazarus Island (catch the Ferry to St. John’s Island at the Marina South Pier and walk to Lazarus…follow the signs to the beach. NOTE: The boat stops at the very cool Kusu Island for an hour on the return trip…make sure to check out the cute little turtle sanctuary)
-Night Safari (at the Singapore Zoo. NOTE: Tickets are cheaper if you buy them online)
Neighborhoods:
Chinatown (Specifically Keong Said Road and Duxton Hill)
Little India
Orchard Road
Arab Street & Haji Lane
Tiong Bahru
Marina Bay
NOT FEATURED IN THE VIDEO BUT PLACES I STILL LOVE:
Food:
-Kok Sen (On Keong Saik Road in Chinatown…local hangout with super authentic fantastic Chinese food)
-Tong Heng Bakery (in Chinatown…make sure to get the delectable egg tarts)
-Albert Street Prawn Noodle Soup (at Old Airport Road Food Centre)
-Song See Fish Noodles (at Lau Pa Sat)
-Carrot Cake at Chomp Chomp Food Centre (not at all what you think it is…it’s a savory dish of rice flour…get the “black” version…it has more flavor)
-Golden Mile Claypot Rice
-Tiong Bahru Meng See (on Chinatown’s Food Street…get the Roast Duck over noodles)
-328 Katong Laksa (a little spendy for laksa, but very popular, spicy, and delicious)
-Sungei Road Laksa (More local and cheaper, but equally excellent Laksa)
-Samy’s Curry Restaurant
-No Signboard Seafood (my favorite chili crab in the city…note: Chili crab can be very expensive…make sure to check the price upfront so you’re not surprised)
-JB Ah Meng (White Pepper Crab)
-Rider’s Cafe
-Lucy’s BBQ (at Chomp Chomp Food Centre)
-Finally…I also love the Golden Mile Food Centre, and the Adams Road Food Centre
Things to do:
-The Treetop Walk at the MacRitchie Reservoir is very cool
-Take a boat ride in the Marina
-Check out the Marina Barrage…it’s a very cool roof-top park where people fly their kites
Some of my favorite Mid-range Hotels (not featured in the video) are:
-The Dorsett
-The Amoy
-Wanderlust Hotel
-Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay
(But my best hotel advice is to just search Hotels.come, Expedia, etc to find the best deals for the days you’re going…read guest reviews and look at guest pictures.
Also…if you can handle tight spaces and don’t mind a shared bathroom, you can stay at CUBE Capsule Hotel…it’s actually a pretty cool experience. And of course…there’s always AirBnB)
