GREATER LADAKH TOUR Leh India
Experience the most amazing trip of Leh Ladakh with us. :)
Leh Ladakh, Tourist Place, Documentary | By Ladakh Times
Leh, a high-desert city in the Himalayas, is the capital of the Leh region in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir state. Originally a stop for trading caravans, Leh is now known for its Buddhist sites and nearby trekking areas. Massive 17th-century Leh Palace, modeled on the Dalai Lama’s former home (Tibet’s Potala Palace), overlooks the old town’s bazaar and mazelike lanes. There are two roads in to Leh, one from Manali in Himachal Pradesh in the south, and one from Srinagar in the west. Both routes are equally spectacular in different ways, and both are time consuming with winding, narrow roads, and numerous military checkpoints.
The main advantage of taking the road from Srinagar, covering a distance of 434 km (270 mi), is that it runs at a lower altitude, and thereby reduces the risk and severity of altitude sickness. It is also open longer - normally from the beginning of June to October - and follows the traditional trade route between Ladakh and Kashmir, which passes through many picturesque villages and farmlands. The disadvantage is that it passes through areas of higher risk of militant troubles. It takes two long days, with an overnight stop in Kargil. Tickets cost Rupees 370/470 on ordinary/deluxe buses.
The route from Manali to Leh, covering a distance of 473 km (294 mi), is one more commonly taken by tourists. It takes two days, normally with an overnight stop either in Keylong (alt. 3096) or in tent accommodation in Sarchu (4253) or Pang (4500). Making the first stop in Keylong drastically reduces the risk of altitude sickness (AMS). It traverses one of the highest road passes in the world and is surrounded by wild rugged mountains. The scenery is fantastic, though it is definitely not for the faint hearted. This historical trade route was linked to Yarkhand and was severed by the India-China war in 1962, and later was transformed in to military supply road. Reliable access is limited from mid-June to end-September, as it is blocked by snow for rest of the year.

Best places to visit in Leh Ladakh | Leh Ladakh tour Episode-5 | Leh Ladakh on bike | Indian yogi
These are few places you can visit in leh Ladakh which are around 10-15 kms of the city. Beautiful places to explore nearby which show you the culture and history of leh. Do visit these places and it’s perfect for a whole one day to explore nearby .
Other places are far from the main city , for which you have to give 2-3 days more to explore properly and at some places because of snow you can’t go with bike or requires special permission so you need to go in a car tour package of a whole day around.
For city places take your own vehicle and explore the city , if you don’t have your vehicle then take on rent and explore the beautiful city.
Keep following for more travel, food and yoga videos. Do watch my previous videos for whole travel experience of manali to leh journey and other cities.

Ladakh
Ladakh land of high passes is a region in Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir that currently extends from the Kunlun mountain range to the main Great Himalayas to the south, inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent.
Ladakh, open to tourism only since 1974, is a land of high passes, bounded by the Karakoram and the mighty Himalayas. The Indus with its tributaries acts is the lifeline for Ladakh's scanty population.
Ladakh covers an area of 97,000 sq kms, and has an average elevation of 3,500 m. It is often called 'Little Tibet', because of its topographical and cultural similarities with neighbouring Tibet. In the early days, Ladakh played an important role being strategically placed at the crossroads of important trade routes to Central Asia. This now remains in the past, with China having sealed off the borders of Tibet and Central Asia.
The rugged, arid Ladakh mountain-scape has been the subject of many a photographer and destination of world-class mountaineers. Its brackish lakes at high altitudes, picturesque peaks, charming mountain villages, expansive meadows, wildlife, monasteries, rich heritage, awesome physical features, and remoteness sets it apart from other favourite holiday hot-spot.
Ladakh provides great opportunities for adventure sports such as river rafting, trekking, mountaineering and mountain biking. Adventure tourism has contributed in a big way to Ladakh's economy.
Ladakhis are sweet natured, hard working and fun loving people marking every occasion with festivities. There are a number of Monastic festivals held through out the year, whose dates are decided according to the Tibetan calendar. During summer, most villages hold colourful archery festivals and contests, while most of the religious and scio-cultural events are held during the winter.
The Ladakhis are largely dependent on cattle. They comprise a predominantly Buddhist population with the only exceptions of Kargil and the Suru Valley which is inhabited by Shia Muslims and share cultural similarities with Baltistan, now in Pakistan.
The main languages spoken are Ladakhi, Purik, Tibetan and English.
Being in the rain shadow of the Himalayas, it is generally dry, with hot and dry temperatures during summers, and cold and dry during winters.
Its winter season is long with temperatures dropping to minus zero, and summer, warm with cool nights. Temperatures of -60 have been recorded in Drass.

How LADAKH Trip changed my Life !! ???? | THE FINAL EPISODE????
Ladakh is a region administered by India, located in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent, and a part of the larger region of Kashmir, which has been the subject of dispute between India, Pakistan, and China since 1947. Contemporary Ladakh borders Tibet to the east, the Lahaul and Spiti regions to the south, the Vale of Kashmir, Jammu and Baltistan regions to the west, and the southwest corner of Xinjiang across the Karakoram Pass in the far north. It extends from the Siachen Glacier in the Karakoram range to the main Great Himalayas to the south. In August 2019, the Parliament of India passed an act by which Ladakh will become a union territory on 31 October 2019.
Ladakh is the highest plateau in the state of Jammu & Kashmir with much of it being over 3,000 m (9,800 ft).It extends from the Himalayan to the Kunlun Ranges and includes the upper Indus River valley.
Scant precipitation makes Ladakh a high-altitude desert with extremely scarce vegetation over most of its area. Natural vegetation mainly occurs along water courses and on high altitude areas that receive more snow and cooler summer temperatures. Human settlements, however, are richly vegetated due to irrigation.

Leh ladakh road trip | Leh ladakh tour | India Travel
This was my 5th road trip to Ladakh. I have done Manali to Leh in June / July / September earlier. This year I choose to do this trip in October. After doing this trip I feel the best time for Leh Ladakh road trip is June / July. In October, all the greenery is gone and the weather is very dry and cold. But let me tell you, even in pre-winters, Leh Ladakh is very cold and windy. Though it’s very warm in the day but at the same time very windy and cold at night. In October the green beauty is gone but the challenge is doubled. So for me it was still fun.
Manali to Jispa (Distance: 140 Km | Travel time: 4 hrs. approx.):
In summers, this drive is my favorite, but in winters, again all the greenery is replaced by dust and cold. Though I see a lot of less traffic, but the charm is still on. Anyway, so we started like 10.30-11 in the morning and reached Jispa by evening. On the way we crossed Rohtang La pass (altitude: 3,978 m or 13,050 ft.), Tandi, Keylong. At Tandi like usually, I got my tank filled and continued. Jispa was very cold and silent. Usually, it’s full of tourists, because everyone prefers to halt at Jispa for a night or say before driving further to Leh. I walked to the Bhag River and took few shots of the river and the beautiful valley.
Jispa to Leh (Distance: 340 Km | Travel Time: 12-13 Hrs. Approx.):
Again, one of the longest drives during Leh-Ladakh road trip. Keeping in mind, being October, the sun will rise late and set early, we started early in the morning around 5:30 am, so that we reach Leh before sun set. Early morning at Jispa, it was freezing, my windshield was frozen and I had to deice it with a jug of hot water. So we started before sunrise and witnessed the beautiful and bright sunrise on the way near Baralacha La. As expected, we found little snow on the passes. If you want snow, plan in June. SO we crossed the passes on the way one by one: Baralacha La (4,890 m or 16,000 ft.), Nakeela (4,738 m or 15, 547 ft.), Lachulung La (5,064 m or 16,616 ft.) and Tanglang La (5,328 m or 17,480 ft.). Needless to say all the passes are very windy and cold. For my co-travellers, it was even difficult to get out. Sarchu was deserted and the beautiful green plain was all dull, orange and dry. After Sarchu, we also crossed Gata Loops, 22 hairpin bends at 4,190 m or 13,750 ft. Then after crossing couple of passes, we reached Pang and then More Plains and finally Leh. But I must say being off-season, we faced very less traffic. Mostly trucks and army convoys. That day we reached Leh by 7 in the evening.

Biggest LADAKH TRIP Mistakes NOT to make | TRAVEL VLOG IV
Ladakh is one of the most beautiful places you can ever travel to. Its the Himalaya region in India with gorgeous winding roads through the mountains, sparkling lakes and the friendliest people. Because it’s such a remote place in India and a landscape not many people get to experience, it’s unfortunately quite easy to make some mistakes that might cause difficulties or even ruin your trip.
I have a India Ladakh travel guide video linked in the description below, with more information on how to plan your trip to Ladakh. Having spent 3 weeks there myself I also wanted to share some of the biggest mistakes not to make during your Ladakh trip in this video. This way you won’t make the same mistakes I did and fully get to enjoy your trip to Ladakh while in India.

Q (Why) Are you vegetarian?
A I'm vegetarian but not strict. I don't eat any meat, fish, cooked/boiled or fried eggs. I gradually became a vegetarian over the course of 15 years because I disliked the taste of meat more and more. After doing a yoga teacher training in 2015 I also quit fish and the eggs. No matter my food preferences I have no issues with other people not being vegetarian. I don't judge others and kind of expect the same favor from others concerning my own food preferences. It makes for a more friendly world :-)
Q Why do you usually travel alone?
A Because my friends have jobs with limited holidays, kids and partners. Also I really like exploring on my own.

FOLLOW ME ON INSTA:
Winters is the off-season for tourism in Ladakh so we ended up visiting a lot more places in and around Leh.
The above video includes shots from Shanti Stupa, Thiksey Gompa, Hemis national park, the Leh market and the gorgeous Indus and Zanskar Sangam.
We spent a total of 3 days in Leh this winter which included 2 days of acclamitization. All roads heading into Ladakh are closed in the winter due to the motorable passes being snowed in. The only mode of travel to access Ladakh is to fly into Leh. We arrived in Leh from Delhi and were greeted by frigid temperatures... -10 C at 3500 meters!!! Due to its elevation from sea level, the atmosphere in Ladakh is quite thin and the lack of oxygen causes normal breathing to be fairly laboured. The most common ailment is a headache during the acclamitisation process. But with landscapes so breathtaking, we barely paid attention to our throbbing heads!
