WINE TOUR
Grootbos Private Nature Reserve is nestled in the Western Cape surrounded by stunning wine pockets of the Overberg region where guests can explore sensory bliss as the red wine flows like velvet and the verdant pastures can be tasted in the fragrant white wines.
Grootbos proudly boasts only wine from the local area of the Overberg. By supporting these local and delicious wines we hope to create awareness on what this place has to offer. The wine routes through the Overberg region are not as popular as Stellenbosch and Franschhoek and other wine routes around Cape Town but that is also half the charm. Rather enjoy a wine tour 'off the beaten track' that promises to be a memorable journey. From Grootbos you can visit the most Southern wine route in Africa and explore rustic destinations rife with natural adversities that elicit intense flavours in the wine. The wine connoisseurs of the Overberg region have orchestrated these adversities and intense flavours into a symphony of flavour that promises to seduce your senses.
Stanford is the closest of all the wine pockets and this Old Victorian town has a warm hospitality and good food to complement the sensational wine. Taste the rich history that began with the first Dutch settlers combined with the fragrant wisps of the Kleinriver and rumbling mountains. Hermanus is a well-known destination because of its superior land-based whale watching but few realise the Hemel-en-Aarde road is rife with quaint bistros, stunning views, delicious cuisine and exquisite wine. Then discover the Elim and Cape Agulhas wine route that boasts geographical significance as the southernmost wine route in Africa. Meander through verdant valleys with cows and villages lost in time only to come across wine farms set in a natural utopia. The severe natural adversities like the persistent south-easterly wind and the tumultuous clash of the Indian Ocean and Atlantic Ocean prevent the upward growth of the vines so that the grapes elicit extreme flavours. The wine connoisseurs have taken on wine-making with the same ardour as the weathered sailors, with fierce determination and a gentle skill.
In South Africa wine is not just a drink, but a combination of art, culture and passion. Discover these qualities on a wine tour with Grootbos.

Western cape, South Africa
I started my trip from Cape Town, to Free State and then to Eastern Cape back to Cape Town via Garden Route.
Along the way I met offered lifts for the local people who are really still struggling the way along the life to trying make a little better for life.
The entire South Africa is a amazing country with so much to offer for the land owners of the country yet the equal share of this land is not shared correctly.
Majority of the population is living in below the poverty line whilst very few are making the profits and accumulating the money for self greed.
The entire land is broken in to private land and fenced off.Private farming and game reserves.

#TIYC Franschhoek And Grande Provence
Today I'm out in the picturesque town of Franschhoek, slap bang in the middle of South African wine country, as I play #TouristInYourCity.
I explore the quaint town before heading to Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate, as I spend two days soaking up all that this award winning estate has to offer.
Dinner, served Al fresco, at the award winning The Restaurant, wine tasting in the wine room and a whirl-wind tour of the beautiful art in the gardens, makes for a time peace and tranquility on this working farm.
Leaving Franschhoek I stop off at the Franschhoek Motor Museum, where assistant curator David lovingly guides me through more than a hundred years of motoring history.

Spa Treatments
The Bloom Forest Spa on Grootbos Private Nature Reserve is an earth-bound heaven where soothing spa treatments are combined with nature's healing touch.
The Bloom Forest Spa is set in an ancient Milkwood forest where the dense foliage blocks out all civilisation and creates a scene of utter serenity. The Milkwood trees have draping branches that caress the ground and gnarled twisted branches that reach towards the sky. The dense foliage encapsulates anyone walking through where civilisation dissipates and is replaced by the melodic tweeting of endemic birds and the gentle sway of these wise-old branches. Milkwoods can grow to be 1000 years old and the twisting trunks are monuments to the test of time.
The Spa is perfectly positioned to reap the benefits of the tranquillity of the natural surroundings, and when combined with the lush interior comforts make the experience memorable. Guests can choose from a wide range of treatments that will alleviate tension and treatments that will beautify.
To leave on legs of jelly and completely at ease, relish the joys of a Full Body Massage that derives inspiration from the Swedish and Classic techniques. This is definitely one to eliminate all tension and rejuvenate the muscles. Our skilled masseuses then use the art of Foot Reflexology to balance the entire body with pressure on certain points of the foot that relate to particular body parts. Guests can otherwise choose the Japanese-inspired Shiatsu that uses a traditional art of healing by touch and pressure that releases and rebalances the energy of the body.
Leave the Spa healthy and attractive with a manicure and pedicure that will exfoliate, shape, clean and pamper your hands and feet. Embrace the open summer sandals with perfect nails and a colour of your choice. There are facials that will exfoliate all the impurities, clean, hydrate and nourish your skin. The facials includes a face massage, eyebrow plucking, deep cleanse and nourishing mask. After this treatment you will be glowing!
A spa treatment is a must for any of those in desperate need of relaxation and anyone who enjoys soothing sensations, and let's be honest, who doesn't?
