Grecque Orthodoxe Cathédrale de Saint-Georges à Beyrouth, Liban
The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint George holds a special place in the hearts of many Lebanese because of its unique location overlooking Parliament Square right in the heart of Beirut's city center. The Cathedral of Saint George is the Mother Cathedral of Beirut's Greek Orthodox community. It's the Thronos, the throne of the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Beirut and its dependencies. The Cathedral is the oldest church in the city of Beirut, and one of the oldest in the region. The first Christian temple ever built in the very location goes back to the mid sixth century AD and it's closely associated with Beirut's famous Law School.

When a church narrates history
Few may know that in 2018, 28 years after the end of the lebanese 75 civil war, there are no official modern history texts. If you are hungry to discover some hidden war stories you have to visit this cathedral.
It's location : in the very heart of Beirut's downtown, in the Star Square ( next to the parliament and many nice restaurants). I will not spoil the stories you will discover by yourself visiting this cathedral.
Moreover, since it's located in a very ( very ) rich Roman ruins area, you can benefit from visiting many sites really close to each other by feet. Let's add that the cathedral is built over a museum that you may have the luck to visit|Lebanon.CrocoNile.Travel

Al Amine mosque attached to the church building is the Cathedral of the Maronite Christian tradition has defended the early Christianity. 2000 years of history of persecution can withstand the nest firmly in the ground in Lebanon. The Greek Orthodox Church of the nearby historic places are cherished traditions of the Eastern Roman era millennium. It was difficult to get permission to shoot 10 minutes of worship look. To me the solemn liturgy is not a religion like the Catholic Church comes to the sacred feeling. Thus various religions sometimes brew the conflict was often the cause of war.
