Green's Point Lighthouse, L'Etete New Brunswick
Green's Point Lighthouse, L'Etete New Brunswick
GREENS POINT LIGHTHOUSE, LETETE, NB
From the shore you see seals and minke whales, deer, plus all the birds, land and water. you will see fishing boats, sailboats, pleasure craft, and the Deer Island Ferry jutting back and forth to the island. Watch the Eagles hunt at low tide.
The attraction consists of a tourist bureau/ museum, a guest house you can rent and a lighthouse. The center guides are most informative and the items on exhibit are varied and interesting. The Museum is abundant with samples of marine life and some pieces of history. Most interesting for folks of all ages.
Travelling to the lighthouse from the Town of St. George takes approx 16 minutes. Traveling to the lighthouse from St George is very scenic and is truly a way of seeing the native area. The location of the lighthouse was just the icing on the cake. Absolutely stunning and a memorable sight to see. The Lighthouse sits at the very tip of the peninsula next to the Bay of Fundy.
We usually pack a picnic lunch, binoculars ready, lawn chairs, perhaps a book and are all ready to spend the day or afternoon. i might add at this point that the welcome center/museum has a very clean bathroom.
There is a bluff to park and panoramic view of both sides of the Bay....did i mention beach-combing and usually finding great treasures on all beaches.
The tide drops approx 24 -28 feet. Come watch the wild ducks ride the rapids and swirling waters as the tide goes out. Great place for kayakers.
Whether you are sitting and watching, or walking aboot and discovering, its all enjoyable.

Green's Point Lighthouse, L'Etete Passage, New Brunswick
This lighthouse was built in 1879. There is a museum and a cottage that can be rented to support upkeep of the lighthouse. Most of all, this area is rich in marine life. Whales can often be seen and heard nearby and there is an abundance of sea birds and fishing boats travelling through including the ferry to Deer Island.

Mullholland Point Light, Campobello Island, NB, 1884
This lighthouse is a wooden octagonal tower standing forty-four feet from it's base and was completed in 1884. It was built to guide vessels through Lubec Narrows, an area with a quick current as the world's highest tides enter and exit the channel. Lubec, Maine is directly across the water and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Bridge to Maine is nearby.

Pendlebury Lighthouse, St. Andrews, NB, 1833
This lighthouse was constructed in 1833 and is the oldest remaining mainland lighthouse in New Brunswick. It is located at the tip of a peninsula in the Passamaquoddy Bay and the entrance to the St. Croix River. It has weathered the Saxby Gale storm of 1869 and was also blown over a few years later. It has remained in it's current location since 1875.

Pea Point Lighthouse, Blacks Harbour, NB,
This lighthouse lies just offshore of the Blacks Harbour peninsula. During high tide, the lighthouse is only accessible by boat. Pea Island was originally purchased for $75 and the nearby tip of a nearby peninsula was purchased for $150 so that the keeper could grow farm produce to help supplement his $250 yearly salary. In 1965, the old wooden lighthouse was replaced with the current concrete tower. One of the lightkeepers raised a large family on the island and there is much history that has been kept and shared about growing up on Pea Island.

Head Harbour Lighstation, Campobello Island, NB
Built in 1829, this is the second oldest lighthouse in New Brunswick. It was built to help ships navigate the Bay of Fundy fog, high tides and rugged rocks of Campobello Island. The original octagonal wooden tower is still in use and the light still shines. During low tide, you can visit the lighthouse and enter the tower. There are interpreters during the summer months to share the history of the station and the island. A group of volunteers help maintain the station and preserve it's unique markings and history.

Lighthouse Aerial Series - Belyea's Point NB
Nestled on the Banks of New Brunswick's Saint John River near Morrisdale, the Belyea's Point Light has stood the test of time.
At 36' tall, this white structure with Red trim, topped of with a mallard wind indicator and green flash at a 5 sec frequency is in place to act as both indication of the shallows off the point and as a Port (side) channel marker (similar to the light tower at Oak Point). The current light dates to the 1930's according to posts on lighthousefriends.com and wikipedia.
The light is named after the area's original settler, Hendrick Belyea.
It is important to note that the lights we video are either owned by Transport Canada or by Private interest groups. Permission should be gained before accessing these properties. In many cases, Transport Canada advises that sensitive equipment or Hazards exist and ask that the general public not access the property.
If you like this video and want to see more, please indicate which lighthouse you would like us to film next. We have a license that covers most Transport Canada Owned lights on the Bay of Fundy for 2018.

CLIMBING SWALLOWTAIL LIGHTHOUSE ON GRAND MANAN, NEW BRUNSWICK
On this journey to Grand Manan, New Brunswick, I decided to climb to the top of Swallowtail Lighthouse and check out the view for North Head. And it did not disappoint after a night of camping on Grand Manan Island. This island is called Grand for a reason.
