Green Andaman Travel Presentation
Green Andaman Travel is a travel agency located in Khao Lak, just 70kms north of Phuket in Thailand. The company was set up by local businessman Sunai Leesakul, whose aim is to show visitors what makes Khao Lak and the surrounding areas so special. The company prides itself on its eco-friendly working philosophies – hence the name Green Andaman Travel.
In this video clip we are introduced to Sunai and his team, who offer both land and sea-based tours of the region. As one of the best tour companies in Khao Lak, Green Andaman Travel concentrates their tours on four primary areas, namely:
1. Khao Lak
2. Khao Sok
3. Phang Nga
4. Phuket
Specializing in creating tours and trips around Khao Lak and nearby regions such as Khao Sok, Green Andaman Travel ensures all of their tour groups are small to give the trips a personal feel. The company also employs tour guides who grew up in the area and by concentrating on the regions the guides know the best, visitors can be sure to get a real in-depth insight into the region.
There’s nothing worse than crowded buses, uneducated tour guides and fast-paced trips that make you feel rushed. That’s why Green Andaman Travel focus on high quality customer service and the company strives to make sure all of their tours are enjoyable for everyone involved. From taking a sea kayak ride in Phang Nga Bay to hiking in Khao Sok jungle, visitors can create their own tours or book an existing package.
During the video, Sunai tells us how he spent one year working without any salary in order to learn and gain the experience he needed to run a successful tour company. After the Southeast Asian tsunami devastated the area in 2004, Sunai goes on to describe how he lost everything and had to start all over again and this led to the birth of Green Andaman Travel.
The company began from a small team of just three people and Sunai did a lot of the hands-on tour guiding himself to ensure that the company grew in the direction he wanted. From humble beginnings to being one of the most established tour companies in Khao Lak, Green Andaman Travel offers tours and trips to many of the area’s top attractions – as well as some secret ones.

Phang Nga Bay James Bond Island Green Andaman Travel
- James Bond Island in Phang Nga Bay is another one of our customer's absolute favorite destinations. On this tour we, as always, pick you up at the resort/hotel/guesthouse where you are staying and from there we take you to Phang Nga Bay in one of our air conditioned minibuses.
First part of the sailing trip at the scenic Phang Nga Bay we get into a traditional Thai long-tail boat where there is plenty of photo opportunities among the amazing limestone formations characteristic to Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island. Getting in a kayak is the best way to get up close to the lime stone formations, there is always a guide who controls the kayak, giving you free hands to capture the beauty of the nature at first hand.
Khao Phing Kan or Ko Tapu is the island which we know as James Bond Island. In 1974 parts of the James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun was filmed on this location. The las part of the Phang Nga Bay trip is a visit to Koh Panyee which is a Muslim fishing village built on stilts. Koh Panyee with its mosque, school and even its own floating football field is always a pleasure to visit.

Travel VLOG - Who's Idea was this? Khaolak - Thailand
Thailand was one of the countries that was hit by the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami. Due to proximity of the Andaman coasts of Thailand situated just about 500 km east of the earthquake epicentre, the tsunami took just 2 hours to reach and strike the western coastline of the country. The Thai government reported 4,812 confirmed deaths, 8,457 injuries, and 4,499 missing after the country was hit by a tsunami caused by the Indian Ocean earthquake on the 26 of December 2004.
The smaller but increasingly popular resort area of Khao Lak some 80 km north of Phuket was hit far worse with 3,950 confirmed deaths, however, the death toll in Khao Lak may have exceeded 4,500. The severity of the situation in Khao Lak is probably explained by the fact, that unlike the high-rise hotels of Phuket, the village of Khao Lak only had low built bungalows instead of high-rise concrete hotels.
