Pure Culture
‘Pure Culture’ a View of Life in Grenada, the Hidden Gem of the Caribbean
Grenada, renowned for friendly, kind locals who smile on the inside and out, enjoys a vibrant culture surrounded by beautiful beaches, waterfalls, rainforest, spectacular gardens, ancient forts and plantations. Numerous local festivals ignite the spirit of the nation, with unique carnivals in both Carriacou and Grenada. To name but a few, Carriacou’s Big Drum Festival, Fisherman’s Birthday, and Drumming in the Moonlight... these along with the unique maritime culture of Petite Martinique, highlight the warmth and fun loving nature of the people.
Surrounded by the glorious Caribbean Sea there are many events at waters edge, the most important of which is the Annual Workboat Regatta. There on the beach of Grand Anse, among enthusiastic crowds, locally built wooden boats compete for prizes.
The peoples of this tri-island state welcome all to a place where heart makes home and hospitality is extended with warmth and grace.

A brief history:
Born in Kenya, Eastern Africa. I moved to London, the UK at a young age, I lived in London until 2015 when I moved permanently to Brooklyn, New York.

We started speaking again around (2010) and entered into a Long-distance relationship for a few years until we got married, and I moved to Brooklyn.
I started my YouTube channel to share this new journey/city with my family and friends. They enjoyed keeping up with me so much, I then decided to share my journey with YOU too.

HoMethan green story: Sandy's farm in Grenada
Sherwin Sandy and his family run an off-grid farm with agro-processing and catering business. Mr. Sandy is a trained chef and follows an integrated production cycle, leading way in organic farming.
Mr. Sandy used to carry heavy LPG cylinders on his bicycle up to the top of the hill farm. But since April 2017, Mr. Sandy enjoys of his continuous on-site gas production to process crops (e.g. plantain chips, dried ginger, cassava bread, etc.). In addition, a small biogas-powered generator and a solar panel meet farm’s and home’s electricity needs.
The HoMethan biogas plant is up and running since April 2017.

JD's SkyShots Levera Beach Grenada
Situated at the north eastern corner of beautiful Grenada, Levera beach is well know as a local camping spot as well as a nesting ground for leatherback turtles. There was poor weather conditions during this flight, but seeing as it was taken on my last day there, I had to make due with the overcast clouds.
During the flight you'll see three islands off the shoreline: Sugar loaf, Green island and Sandy island. The first featured island is home to a beach house owned by a very fortunate businessman.
Hope you enjoy!
