Green Island Taiwan: Epic Snorkeling Adventure!
Traveled to Green Island, Taiwan. This is a beautiful tropical island, with little development aside from one small town on the island. Stayed for next to nothing at neat bed and breakfast right on the water, took electric mopeds around the island for hiking and sightseeing, and snorkeled in crystal-clear waters with abundant coral and fish. Ate fried flying fish and mango snow ice. Can't wait to go back!

Heels 2 Wheels: Taiwan - Human Rights Memorial Park on Lyudao / Green Island (Ep 20)
We make a long drive up Taitung to catch a boat to Lyudao, also known as Green Island, a small volcanic island about 33 km off the eastern coast of Taiwan in the Pacific Ocean. In this first of 2 episodes on the island, we explore the Human Rights Memorial Park, which used to be known as the Green Island Prison. You'll get a rare inside look at the various correctional facilities and the prisoners' place of accommodation.
Green Island is the ROC's fourth-largest island and is accessible by airplane landing in the Lyudao Airport in eight to 12 minutes from Taitung City. Being a popular scuba-diving destination for both locals and expatriates living in Taiwan, there are also many ferries available daily to take visitors over to the island. We took the ferry option because we will be exploring the island with the scooter, which was also allowed to board the ferry.

Heels 2 Wheels: Taiwan - Zhaori Hotspring and Brother Story Souvenir Store (Ep 21)
We continue our tour of Green Island and make a stop at the Zhaori Hot Springs, which is heated by the volcanic lava of Green Island, and one of only three saltwater hot springs in the world along with the springs on Kyushu Island of Japan and Sicily in Italy. Zhaori boasts some of the best spots to enjoy the sunrise and watch the stars while soaking and relaxing in the therapeutic warm water.
Lastly we stop by the famous Brother Story Store to pick up souvenirs of a different kind. Specially made and designed in-house, these cute souvenirs can't be purchased anywhere else in the world. Also, it's adorable iconic character, Brother, has loads of funny statements to make about Taiwan's latest headlines, making a gift that will be remembered!

Coral Combover - Diving for Donald Trump's Doppelganger.
Grab your sick bags and join Finbar O'Sullivan as he braves a local ferry in a typhoon to go diving at Green Island off the east coast of Taiwan.
This tropical, volcanic Pacific island was originally a penal colony for political prisoners but today is a mecca for tourists seeking hot springs and some of the most spectacular landscapes in Taiwan.
Green Island is also acclaimed for its surrounding by reefs, and despite the recent rain and impending typhoon, the reef waters are surprisingly sheltered and the visibility is excellent.
Fin takes a couple of dives on a reef in recovery, a marine reserve that has suffered years of being over-fished by locals. The local divers are now doing their best to clean up and the reef is showing many signs of recovery with large coral formations, an abundance of tropical fish, moray eels and banded sea snakes.
But the reef is still susceptible to damage from nature itself. In 2016, the reef was hit by Super-Typhoon Meranti, toppling it's most famous feature, a 10m high pore coral known as the Big Mushroom. This large coral now rests on its side and when viewed from a particular angle, has a striking resemblance to US President Donald Trump, complete with his signature combover.
