Green World Ecological Farm
Green World Ecological Farm (Chinese: 綠世界生態農場) is a well-known leisure farm in Taiwan with high reputation. The park is a combination of farm, zoo, and botanical garden, occupying 70-hectares (172-acres) and preserving over 1,900 species of plants and animals. Green World is divided in to six theme parks: 1. 'Discovery Land' 2. 'Bird Ecological Park' 3.'Butterfly Ecological Park' 4.'Water Plants Park' 5.'Biodiversity Adventure Area' 6. 'Swan Lake Area'; with 48 attractions and shows such as Orchid land, Alpaca house, Cactus Green House, Landscape Toilet, Lovely Animal Area, Bamboo Forest... etc. The park attracts 800,000 tourists each year. Visitors here can get very close observation to all the animals and plants, and enjoy a day of adventure in jungle.
Green World was officially opened on 1st May 2004. The park is a perfect utopian model of 'Ecological Engineering Methods' that all the landscape, architecture, and structure here are Eco-friendly green design with the concept of 3Rs (Reduce.Reuse.Recycle) to get the lowest Carbon footprint and pollution. By calculating the air-convection and nature daylight illumination, there is no any air-conditioner need in the park. Green World preserved most of the original forests and lakes, and also preserved an hundred years old historic ancient house built by local Hakka ancestors. It's also an accredited animal sanctuary for wounded or abandon animals.

It is situated near the train station in Luodong Township and is equipped with a tourist information centre, an exhibition hall, a production line tour, and a restaurant. It makes a great stop for family activities, and gives many a chance to get their hands dirty and prepare their own traditional delicacies.
Visitors can have the DIY experience of making own tofu, dolls painting and candles painting. So for all you DIY fans out there, don't forget to give this place a visit!

Day 2 of our company team building. We were taught how to make a special tea, we ate some delicious lunch and headed out to an old street in Hsinchu to explore!! This company trip really reminds me of going on a field trip in elementary school! Wow so many new places to discover in Hsinchu! I must come back and explore more!
