Knoll House Hotel Dorset - Family Visit
We visited Knoll House Hotel in Dorset for a couple of nights. We have not been in this part of Dorset before so we were really excited.
You will find Knoll House at Studland Bay on the Isle of Purbeck between Poole and Old Harry Rocks. Purbeck is a quiet landscape of coast, cliffs, heath and woodland, and a haven for wildlife. It’s perfect for cycling and exploring, and a wonderful place for dog walking all year round.

The building was the house for some creative stained glass window design which was completely destroyed in the fire...

We got scared and ran Walkers in Gloucestershire stalked by growling PANTHER a mile A group of walkers have told how they were followed a growling PANTHER for a mile. The big cat followed the group from Woodchester Park boathouse in Gloucestershire to the car park, a distance of 1.3 miles, after they became lost. One of the group contacted local tracker Frank Tunbridge after reading a similar report of a big cat nearby Stroud. I have seen the big black panther it was clear as day, one the walkers told Gloucester Live. On our way back up the drive we saw yellow eyes in the trees, like it was following us. There was a growl the closer we got to the cars at that point we got scared and ran to the cars and put the lights on there it was right in front of us. It then jumped over the fence in the long grass where it seemed to be stalking us, growling. We were trying to get a picture but it was just too dark. This was only four weeks ago and again last week we saw the same eyes in the tree line, deeper in by the lakes. It was not a puma, as it was too small it was black with yellow eyes and slinked like a moggy. It was a big cat no other animal can move like it. She said she first noticed it at the boat house. We were sat in the boat at the boat house and it was behind us in the tree line then at the mansion it followed up the drive to the car park. There have been hundreds of big cat sightings in Gloucestershire and particularly in and around Sltroud over the years. Snow day in Greenock (Storm Emma) 01/03/2018
Videos taken throughout the day on 1st March 2018. Various parts of Greenock West. Amber alert weather warning area. First ever red alert weather warning in Scottish history and only second in the UK's history.
The public are being urged not to travel throughout Thursday in the areas affected by red and amber weather warnings for snow.
A red warning in place across most of central Scotland is due to expire at 10am today. However, the highest level amber warning remains in place across many areas meaning disruption is inevitable. Road conditions will continue to be extremely difficult and potentially dangerous throughout the day.
Rail and bus services will also be subject to significant cancellations through the morning peak and into the afternoon
Humza Yousaf, Minister for Transport, said:
“The travel advice in the affected areas today could not be clearer – do not travel unless it is absolutely necessary to do so.
“Even after the red warning is lifted, large parts of Scotland will still be subject to high level amber weather warnings for snow. This should not be underestimated. An amber warning means there is a real possibility that vehicles and drivers will become stranded – something that we have already seen happen during this period of snow.
“I strongly urge people to adhere to police advice by avoiding travel in areas with red and amber warnings. I also encourage employers to be as flexible as possible with their staff, allowing them to stay safe and avoid travel.”
Britain faces snow storm Emma today as blizzards and drifting snow cause chaos across the country.
The big freeze is reminiscent of Britain's coldest winter in 1962-63.
The Met Office have issued yellow snow and ice warnings today following yesterday's red snow warning, the highest alert meaning that a risk to life is possible.
Yellow snow, wind and ice warnings are in place for most of the UK as temperatures remain below freezing.
People have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel as severe delays are expected on roads, rail and air.
Flights have been cancelled at London, Glasgow and Newcastle airports.

Off-the-wall makeover puts houses in ZIP code of their own
Artist Joe Farrington created the artwork which shows a zip revealing bricks underneath the purple and yellow paint covering his neighbour’s home. The 51-year-old retired art teacher also made another neighbour’s property look like a jigsaw piece. His wacky creation has been greeted by residents after the appeared in Bishop’s Castle, Shrops. Dad-of-three Joe said: There was real excitement in the town when the zip was being done everybody wanted to know what was going behind it. People kept asking me and some of their suggestions were quite risky, as you might imagine. Bishops Castle is an eccentric rural town and people here love quirky art. All the reaction I've heard is positive.”
