The underwater scenery in Grenada is every bit as out of this world as it is above the waves, and just as accessible. All of the sculptures are in stunning clear shallow water easily reachable by divers and snorkelers. The sculptures end up creating artificial reefs, and enhancing the marine environment. Grenada has many exotic waterfalls waiting to be explored by you. walk through the rain forest and discover the Seven Sister waterfalls - yes seven falls on one trail or take a cool walk to Annadale waterfall and bask in the beauty of the surroundings. Several companies on the island offer guided tours that lead visitors through magnificent scenery as well as horse riding through the surf on deserted beaches. Grenada and Carriacou offer a vast variety of marine life including finger coral, sea whips and brown coral trees, angel fish, parrot fish, snake eels, lobster, barracuda, morays, nurse sharks and turtles. Fort George was built from 1706 - 1710, on an early battery erected by the French in the 1600s, and originally named Fort Royal, it was renamed Fort George in 1763, in honour of King George iii. Currently, it houses the Royal Grenada Police force, but has sections which are open to the public. BALLOONS FESTIVAL is a balloon race, followed by a full day of FUN, FOOD AND MUSIC. Ending the day will be another BALLOON GLOW and also a time to enjoy a balloon ride. This event is FREE and is for the entire family. The ‘Anina’ was an inter-island freighter that was anchored off St. Georges our capital for about 5 years until it was given to us by the owner.
The Grenadians sank the wreck in March 2018 on the sheltered Caribbean side of Grenada. She lays on her side to make for an interesting dive. Penetration is under Divemaster supervision.
