GREYFRIARS (Kirkyard / Graveyard) Our Haunted Scotland Project
This video represents a group of friends who take on the role as amateur paranormal investigators and urban explorers as they carry out a video blog investigation of, in this case, Greyfriars Kirkyard in Edinburgh, (Scotland). (Some events may be very funny, some are unexplained, however, what is seen on camera genuinely happened and isn't faked!) Thanks for watching!
This project is created for the interest of the general public in regards to the areas we explore as we indulge in our hobby of the paranormal, video production and exploration.
Our videos are what they are. The subject matter, music used, duration etc are all as we more or less like it. If anything isn't to your taste, please try another channel and don't give anyone a hard time. If you do like our videos however, great!... and subscribe for future uploads.
PLEASE NOTE: Our videos represent 'our personal' experience at the locations visited and do not state that others visiting the same location will share a similar impression. We also wish to point out that our 'approach' is not the most scientific and professional means of investigating the paranormal. Each to their own. We have entered at our own risk! Civil trespass, also known as simple trespass, is not a criminal offence in the U.K., particularly in Scotland. Should you be asked to leave, do so in a civil manner and never damage any building or property in order to gain access. Police will get involved if there's a possibility that a criminal offense has been committed such as refusal to leave, fire or theft etc. We are of course not responsible for those who, after watching any of our videos, get into bother by visiting any of the places we've been to.

Exploring famous Haunted Greyfriar's Kirkyard, scotland (History in description).
The Kirkyard was involved in the history of the Covenanters. The Covenanting movement began with signing of the National Covenant in Greyfriars Kirk on 28 February 1638. Following the defeat of the militant Covenanters at Bothwell Brig in 1679, some 1200 Covenanters were imprisoned in a field to the south of the churchyard. When, in the 18th century, part of this field was amalgamated into the churchyard as vaulted tombs the area became known as the Covenanters' Prison.
During the early days of photography in the 1840s the kirkyard was used by David Octavius Hill and Robert Adamson as a setting for several portraits and tableaux such as The Artist and The Gravedigger.
Greyfriars Bobby
The graveyard is associated with Greyfriars Bobby, the loyal dog who guarded his master's grave. Bobby's headstone at the entrance to the Kirkyard, erected by the Dog Aid Society in 1981, marks his actual burial place in an unconsecrated patch of the Kirkyard - a peculiarity which has led to many misunderstandings and fictions about his burial. The dog's statue is opposite the graveyard's gate, at the junction of George IV Bridge and Candlemaker Row. The grave of Edinburgh police officer John Gray, where the dog famously slept for 13 years, lies on the eastern path, some 30m north of the entrance. The stone is modern, the grave originally being unmarked.

Aberdeen Tolbooth Museum Paranormal Investigation
Afterdark Paranormal Ltd
Episode 3 Aberdeen Tolbooth Museum 19 June 2014
History:
The Tolbooth Museum is one of Aberdeen's oldest buildings and one of the best-preserved 17th century gaols in Scotland.
Ghosts have manifested themselves to staff and visitors over the years, with dark shadows accompanied by ghostly footsteps.
The original building on the site of the Museum was built in 1393 as an area for collecting tolls for goods that were bought and sold.
Years later its role changed to that of a holding place for prisoners about to be tried at the court.
This then developed into a general prison. The Wardhouse, now the Tolbooth Museum, was built between 1616 and 1629.
Several cells still exist in their original format; they have been restored to how they would have looked when they were used as holding cells.
The Event:
Join Afterdark Paranormal Investigations team for what will be a very interesting evening at this fantastic location.

Memorial to Bishop Patrick Scougal St Machar's Cathedral Aberdeen Scotland
Tour Scotland video of the memorial to Bishop Patrick Scougal in St Machar's Cathedral on visit to Aberdeen. Patrick Scougal, born 1607, died 1682, was a Scottish churchman. A native of Haddingtonshire in East Lothian, and cousin of painter John Scougal. In 1624 he graduated from the University of Edinburgh as Master of Arts. In 1636, he became a minister of Dairsie parish, Fife, moving on to Leuchars in 1645 and then to Saltoun, near Edinburgh, in 1659. Scougal married firstly, Margaret Wemyss, and by her had five children, including the famous minister Henry Scougal. His second wife was Anna, daughter of William Congalton of that Ilk, widow of Robert Lauder of Gunsgreen, near Eyemouth, Berwickshire. Bishop Scougall was interred in Aberdeen Cathedral. His monument, a mural tomb on the south-west wall of the nave, is a notable, if slightly naïve example of 17th century Scottish neo-classical design, including a portrait of Scougal and a rich array of symbolic ornament.

Scotland’s Forgotten Suffering
3/4. Heavy fines, imprisonment, torture and execution. Frequently, and conveniently ignored, this was the period of Scotland's Greatest Persecution. A time when faithful Christians would inevitably suffer in continuing to follow God's Word. In a time of increasing hostility to Christian values, there are vital lessons for us today from this awful but heroic period.
