DRONE FLIGHT OVER SWEDEN: The city of Stockholm + the archipelago (Grinda, Vaxholm)
Sweden is beautiful - especially from above! In February 2018, Sweden modified its drone laws, making it much easier for drone enthusiasts to fly. I traveled to Sweden in July 2018. This compilation includes flights over places including the city of Stockholm (especially Djurgården) and islands in the surrounding archipelago, including Vaxholm and Grinda. Over the course of five days, I flew in various beautiful places. What you'll notice is how much water Sweden is surrounded by! Definitely a wonderful place to come visit in the summertime.
The drones I used were a DJI Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian edition and a DJI Mavic Air. Both are linked in my gear list!
Thanks for watching.

Getting Lost on Grinda Island - Stockholm Travel Vlog - Day Five
Grinda Island, a ferry away from Stockholm, Sweden.
Excursion in the Archipelago to Vaxholm - Sweden 4K Travel Channel
The day turns out to be a nice summer day, so we decide to take a trip in the archipelago from Stockholm to Vaxholm. Looking at the map of Stockholm, you get the impression there are countless connections to the Baltic Sea. On closer inspection, you see that this is not correct. Actually, there are only two.
One of them is via Vaxholm. There is a narrow passage between the mainland and an island. Exactly here one built a fortress. The construction date back to King Gustav Vasa. The present fortress is from the 19th century.
There is a second passage from Stockholm to the Baltic Sea. This is also protected by a fortification. We will see this on our ferry trip to Helsinki.
The Archipelago with about 30,000 islands, islets, and rocks, begins a few minutes away from the city of Stockholm.
We leave the port of Stockholm on board the historic S/S Stockholm. The boat trip to Vaxholm takes about 50 minutes and is free for Stockholm pass holders.
The many weekend houses quickly drag us into their spell. They are usually built of wood in the typical Swedish style.
Some islands are forested, with lush meadows in between. Some are also barren rocks, which are used for bathing.
The waterways between are studded with sailing and sports boats. So here travel the Swedes, who do not have a motor home :-).
Vaxholm is a cozy harbor town with almost 5000 inhabitants. Until the construction of the first bridge in 1926, Vaxholm was only accessible by boat.
At the harbor we find a small fruit and vegetable market. Around the square, you find some restaurants. On this hot day, the ice-cream seller are very popular.
We go along the main street, the Hamngatan with its picturesque houses and turn into the Radhusgatan to the city hall.
This square also looks very picturesque with its telephone cell, which now serves as an information point, a public chessboard and lush plants.

Vaxholm in November: virtual walk in idyllic Stockholm archipelago town
Text from visitstockholm.se: Vaxholm, just an hour's ferry ride from Stockholm, is often referred to as the capital of the archipelago. People here have lived off herring fishing for many generations. In the 1500s, King Gustav Vasa decided to put the defence of Stockholm's inlet here. It was the beginning of what would be almost 500 years of military history for Vaxholm residents. The Citadel still stands on the strait just outside the city. A visit there will bring you back to a time when the old fortress was its own little society populated by senior military offers and their wives, soldiers, servants and prisoners. Toward the end of the 1800's, Vaxholm became a popular resort area for Stockholm's socialites. It was also around then that the city became known for its Vaxholm herring - a delicacy that is still served today at local restaurants. Vaxholm is now a lively island city where fishing huts and large houses coexist with small shops, cafés and restaurants. There are also several nice beaches, beautiful nature and some of Sweden's best water sports clubs. Its proximity to Stockholm and central archipelago location make Vaxholm a perfect destination whether it's for a day trip, weekend holiday, or as a base for day trips to other islands.

Vaxholm, Sweden; The Entrance to the Stockholm Archipelago onboard Sailing Vessel Arcturus
| Season 3 | Episode 51
Welcome to Season 3 of my channel!
On this episode we push off from the Alsvik Marina on the island of Yxlan and motor through the archipelago to the city and fort of Vaxholm. Vaxholm was a lovely harbor with lots a faculties, shops and an incredible fort I explored the day we arrived. It was nice to finally be back to civilization after such a long stretch of being in the wild islands of Åland.
This season will follow my time on board SV Arcturus as we explore the Åland Islands and beyond. We sail into cities, tie up on small islands, anchor bows to and ride out a blow before heading back to Sweden. I hope you will follow along with us on the trip.

08/31/2019 Day Tour: Exploring Sweden
???? Vaxholm
???? Bogesund, Castle
????Vaxholm is a cute little hub that is a lot more developed than other islands in the archipelago. Vaxholm is known as the “gateway to Roslagen” because it is a hub for travel to most of the islands in the Swedish archipelago. Vaxholm itself is comprised of about 70 small islands, all of which can be explored on foot. There are shops, restaurants, and cafés for those looking to take a coffee break. For those interested in military history, a ferry runs to the tiny island of Vaxholmen, home to a major 17th century citadel also known as Vaxholm Castle (Vaxholms Kastell in Swedish). ????????
???? Bogesund Castle is a castle in Sweden. It is located on the Bogesundslandet peninsular, in the municipality of Vaxholm, about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) to the east of Stockholm, although 34 kilometres (21 mi) distant by road. The castle overlooks the main shipping channel into and out of Stockholm through the Stockholm archipelago. ????????
