Tibet Travel Video 8 Days Everest Base Camp Group Tour 2016

This October, TCT (TravelChinaTibet.com) successfully organized an 8 day Everest group tour trip for 16 visitors from different countries. Our office manager Mr. Bruce Tang accompanied the group for the entire trip to record the valuable moments of this group.
The 16 visitors were divided into 2 groups. One group of 6 people in a van and the other group of 10 people in a bus. In the first group 4 people only did the 4 day Lhasa section, while the other 2 people did the 6 Days Lhasa & Shigatse section. The second group of 10 people did the whole section of Lhasa-Shigatse-Everest-Lhasa.

Lhasa is the administrative capital of Tibet Autonomous Region. It is the second most populous city on the Tibetan Plateau after Xining and, at an altitude of 3,490 metres (11,450 ft), Lhasa is one of the highest cities in the world. The city contains many culturally significant Tibetan Buddhist sites such as the Potala Palace, Jokhang temple and Norbulingka palaces, many of which are located in Chengguan District, the city seat.

Lhasa, Street Life, Tibet - China Travel Channel
The street life in Lhasa, the administrative capital of Tibet, China, mostly takes place around the Jokhang Temple, which is the religious center of Tibet. The proportion of Han Chinese in Lhasa is around 20%, which is mainly concentrated on the Inner City District Chengguan . Here, the proportion of Han Chinese is about 35%. Members of the army are not taken into account.
In Tibet, the everyday life and religion can barely be separated from each other, so that it does not astonish it that dealers, pilgrims and playing children casually mingle with the rest of the population.

Das Straßenleben in Lhasa, Tibet in China spielt sich zum größten Teil rund um den Jokhang Tempel, der das religiöse Zentrum Tibets darstellt, ab. Der Anteil der Han Chinesen in Lhasa beträgt rund 20%, wobei sich dieser hauptsächlich auf den Inneren Stadtbezirk Chengguan konzentriert. Hier beträgt der Anteil der Han Chinesen ca. 35%. Armeeangehörige sind dabei nicht berücksichtigt.
Alltagsleben und Religion sind in Tibet kaum voneinander zu trennen, so dass es nicht erstaunt, dass sich Händler, Pilger und spielende Kinder ungezwungen mit der restlichen Bevölkerung mischen.

From the roof of our hotel in Lhasa we had a splendid view of the Potala Palace in Lhasa. Then we saw the former winter palace of the Dalai Lama majestically in front of us
Before making the steep climb we observe the pilgrims at the Potala Kora, a circular route around the Potala Palace. Due to the short acclimatization to the altitude of 3,600 m in Lhasa and the carrying of the camera equipment the rise of 180 m caused us little problems
The white sections serve worldly purposes, while red sections serve spiritual purposes. Inside the Potala you may admire many art treasures like the Stupa of the 5th Dalai Lama, made up of 3,700 kg pure gold. The ubiquitous yak butter candles – not smelling like beeswax - might also cause some breathing problems. The view from the golden roof is also breathtaking.

Vom Dach unseres Hotels in Lhasa hat man einen schönen Ausblick auf den Potala-Palast. Dann liegt der frühere Winterpalast des Dalai Lama majestätisch vor uns.
Bevor wir uns an den Anstieg machen beobachten wir die Pilger auf dem Potala-Kora, einem Rundweg um den Potala Palast. Da wir uns noch nicht an die Meereshöhe von 3600 m in Lhasa akklimatisiert hatten und die Kameraausrüstung tragen mussten, machte uns der ca. 180m hohe Anstieg doch etwas zu schaffen.
Die weißen Teile des Bauwerks dienen weltlichen Zwecken, die roten geistlichen. Im Inneren des Potala sind viele Kunstschätze, unter anderem, die Stupa des 5. Dalai Lama, bestehend aus 3.700 kg puren Goldes, zu bewundern. Leichte Atemprobleme können allerdings auch die allgegenwärtigen Yak Butterkerzen bereiten, die nicht gerade nach Bienenwachs duften. Der Ausblick vom goldenen Dach ist ebenfalls atemberaubend.
