GROVES POINT PROVINCIAL PARK October 22, 2017
Groves Point Provincial Park is a popular site with a pebble beach and warm salt water situated in Bras d’Or (5 km / 3 mi south of Highway 105, before crossing St Andrew’s Channel) on Cape Breton Island. Picnic tables can be found in an open field and under a softwood stand. Park activities include exploring the area’s wildlife, kayaking, sports fishing and swimming (change houses on site).
Hiking the Jodrey Trail | Blomidon Provincial Park | Nova Scotia | Canada
#BlonidonProvincialPark
#JodreyTrail
#HikeNovaScotia
Within the beautiful Blomidon Provincial Park are several trails, which are linked as a loop. Today we have completed all of them. You begin on the most popular trail - the Jodrey Trail, where you get great looks of the New Minus Basin (Atlantic Ocean) and Five Islands Provincial Park on the other side.
Most of the hike is wooded with the exception of the few overlook sections. The Overlook trail connects with the Jodrey trail at the very end to offer a few more view points of the ocean.
The final section is the woodland trail. You can decide here to turn back and hike the way you came in, or continue to hike through the woods back to the start location. We didn't feel like having the same scenery the entire time, so we took all three trails.

Canada - McCulloch Lake, British Columbia - YouTube
Without a doubt Cindy takes some of the most amazing videos, capturing the beauty of our world. July 31 found us up at McCulloch Lake, British Columbia, where we came to film the local crayfish population. But before getting underwater, using her Sony HDR PJ170 Handycam, Cindy captured these images to show why we love the outdoors, nature and the beauty around us.
Like Walt Disney used to say at the introduction to The Wonderful World of Disney, the world is a carousel of color, and the beauty of Canada and British Columbia can be seen in the colors of the vast forests and countless lakes, all that nature has provided for us...

Hiking Trails of Cape Breton - St. Peter's
The rail-line into St. Peter's was one of the first abandoned in Nova Scotia. Consequently, the trees and other vegetation have had a number of years to thicken and encroach into the treadway. As a result, this is one of the more attractive rail-trails in the province - and it helps that it traces the shore of St. Peter's Bay.
This route will be profiled in Hiking Trails of Nova Scotia, 9th edition.
