In this food and travel video/vlog, I take you on a full Chinese street food tour of Guangzhou (keep this food in mind if you also visit Hong Kong)- we eat a lot of specialties on the street and in Chinese restaurants together. The addresses for these locations are listed below. Chinese/Asian food recipes are going to be included in my blog shortly.
1) Local street food Chang Fen (rice noodle roll) - These are found throughout the city and are famously eaten during breakfast time in Guangdong, or during yumcha dimsum. I went to a very cheap Chinese restaurant specializing in Changfen in Baiyun district:
Name: 潮汕辉记肠粉
Address: 广州市白云区岗贝路4号
2) The best and must try chashaobao AKA charsui bao AKA BBQ pork bun. These beauties are like upgraded baozi steam buns you find all over the streets of China. The pork juicy and covered in a sweet Barbeque sauce and the bun is so fluffy, you won't be able to get enough of them!
Name: 天天包点
Address: 广州市越秀区起义路72号
3) Famous Chinese street food Chashao BBQ pork and Shao'e roast goose. These are the best and two must try street foods in China, especially during lunch hour in Guangzhou or Hong Kong
Name: 九爷鸡
Address: 广州市越秀区文明路103号
4) Dim sum at the famous yumcha dim sum restaurant Dim Dou Dak. This is a chain restaurant that serves some of the best cantonese dim sum in the city. Be sure to order the shao mai dumplings, har gao dumplings, fengzhua chicken feet, and their specialty red rice roll. So good!
Name: 点都德
Address: 广州市越秀区越秀中路60号宝贝城4楼
5) The largest wholesale seafood market in Guangzhou. There is a huge selection of seafood here, you could spend a whole day here just watching and discovering all the different types of fresh seafood. It's not cheap unfortunately, it's quite expensive! Be ready to bargain a little bit.
Name: 盛港湾酒楼
Address: 广州市海珠区黄沙海产批发市场
If you have a whole day in Guangzhou or even Hong Kong (you can find exactly the same street foods) to travel and eat and try Chinese street food, then visit some of these amazing and best street food locations! Please leave me a comment down below if you did and let me know how the food was!

Chinese STREET FOOD of YOUR DREAMS in GUANGZHOU, China! BEST Cantonese Street Food + SPICY NOODLES
Street Food in China | Street Food in Guangzhou | Chinese Food
Day 1 -
Day 2 -
Welcome back to our mouthwatering and delicious Street Food series from Guangzhou, China. Join the Chopstick Travel team (Luke Martin) as we show you some of the best street food stalls and local restaurants in beautiful Canton China. Cantonese food is world-renown and Guangzhou is the epicentre of this cuisine. In this video (part 3) we show you where to eat. Here is the information to the restaurants:
Fried Wontons & Wonton Noodles
This legendary noodle shop tucked away in an alley serves up some mean wonton dishes. Watch the chefs prepare your dishes before your eyes in their open kitchen before you are served your food. We ordered their famous fried wontons, which are served golden crispy and piping hot with a sweet chili sauce as well as wonton noodle soup, which is served with a heap of fresh noodles. So delicious and a great breakfast!
Wu Caiji Noodle - 吴财记面家
No. 84 Datong Road and No. 20 Longli (east of Xicheng Duhui) - 大同路84号和隆里20号(西城都荟东侧)
Open Monday to Sunday: 7:00 - 00:30
Double Boiled Soup (Coconut Chicken)
Located on a busy road, this tiny hole-in-the-wall shop has very limited seating. They have tons of metal steam baskets stacked on top of each other and cooking to serve hundreds of customers. The soup is made directly inside the hollowed coconut with a light, clear coconut broth, chopped silken chicken and delicious goji berries. The flavour of the coconut flesh seeps into the broth to give it a beautiful, creamy flavour. A light but surprisingly filling meal! This is a Cantonese special and should not be missed when you’re in Guangzhou China!
Dayan Original Sauce - 达扬原味炖品
No. 160-1 Wenming Road - 文明路160-1号(近文德路)
Open Monday to Sunday: 12:00 - 24:00
Chopped Chicken & Chicken Porridge
Another alleyway hidden gem, this tiny shop serves up all-things chicken. Here you can get the local specialty which is white chicken, chopped into massive pieces, served with soy sauce and mustard sauce for dipping. We also ordered their famous chicken porridge which was rich, creamy and cheap - a local favourite. Order outside and bring your number to your table and you will be served your food fast! Come on an empty stomach because this will leave you super satisfied!
Tongji Chicken Porridge Noodle Shop - 同记鸡粥粉面店
No. 3 Fuguangli Changshou East Road - 长寿东路福广里3号
Open Monday to Sunday: 11:00 - 22:30

CHINESE STREET FOOD - Qingping Market Street Food Tour in Guangzhou China | BEST Dim Sum in China
CANTONESE STREET FOOD in Guangzhou, China - EPISODE 1
What's up everyone! Luke Martin here from Chopstick Travel. Today we take you on a STREET FOOD tour through Guangzhou China (aka Canton), for some amazing Cantonese/Chinese local cuisine and street food. Similar to Hong Kong, Guangzhou, China is home to unique and delicious street food and we want to introduce these foods to you so that you can enjoy Guangzhou China as much as we did! In this street food guide, we eat:
1. Dim Sum (Yam cha)
Dim sum is an essential part of Cantonese cuisine throughout China. It consists of various small dishes that have been steamed in steam baskets, and served with tea. You can have it in fancy brunch restaurants as well as street food style! We get to sample: cheong fun, siu mai, char siu bao, chicken feet and more! Here is the restaurant information:
Dian Dou De (Huancheng) - 点都德(花城店)
16 Huacheng Ave (2nd floor) - 花城大道16号(凯蓝大厦2楼)
Hours: Mon - Sun 9:00 to 22:00
2. Roast Meat
Roast meat is another typical yet vital dish in Cantonese cuisine and found throughout China. You will usually see the golden crispy meat hanging from windows outside street food stalls, selling out quick! We chose to try the BBQ Pork meat right outside the incredible Qingping Market (one of the most popular medicinal markets in Guangzhou, and in all of China!). So delicious and sweet! Here is the street food stall information:
Yongxing Roast Meat Shop - 永兴烧腊店
21-4 Tiyun East Rd. - 梯云东路21-4号
Hours: Mon - Sun 10:30 to 14:30 and 16:00 to 18:00
3. Double Skin Milk (燉雙皮奶)
An all-time favourite and traditional dessert in Guangzhou China you don't want to miss! Street food vendors will first boil buffalo milk (for extra richness) and allow it to cool, forming a layer of skin. Peeling the skin away (and saving for later of course) they add sugar and egg to the milk to create a creamy custard. They boil the custard and pour it onto the first skin and allow it to cool to create delicious custard between two skins. Want to give it a try? Check this place out:
Baihua Tianpin - 百花甜品店
210 Wenming Rd. (near Zhongshan Library) - 文明路210号(近中山图书馆)
Hours: Mon - Sun 9:30 to midnight
4. Claypot Rice
A dish found throughout southern China, and is extremely famous in Guangzhou, is the claypot rice. Although restaurants will have different ingredients, one thing remains the same, crispy burnt rice! We get to try an amazing beef and egg claypot rice at a local and cheap street food stall in the centre of downtown Guangzhou. You can visit this spot too:
Wanxing Claypot Rice - 万兴煲仔饭图片
289 Wanfu Rd. - 万福路289号
We hope you enjoyed our first video from our China Street Food series in Guangzhou China. We absolutely LOVED Cantonese style food and wanted to make sure you got to enjoy it as much as we did during your visit to China! Make sure to let us know what your favourite Cantonese (or Chinese) dish is in the comments and where you tried it! Thanks for watching!

Three Tasty Guangzhou Food Joints - MUST EATS IN GUANGZHOU
Guangzhou food is some of the best in China. I am having a food day in the city - trying the best food in Guangzhou. I had a plan to go to a few places, but the smells and scenes from other restaurants drew me in. I ended up making a few pit stops, taking a few foodie detours.
First up, I try an amazing fish ball noodle soup. I love fish based broth in Asia. It has a ton of flavor, but it's less salty than chicken or beef broth. Fish balls are somewhat unique to Asia. For westerners, they might seem a bit strange, but they're absolutely delicious, and this soup had 2 different kinds in it. It also had both noodles and wontons. The thin hokkien style noodles were cooked to perfection with a little bit of bite left in them. The wontons were a mix of pork and shrimp. A combo that I have a deep love for.
The next place I went to was also unplanned. I knew I needed to get some char siu, some roasted pork, but I had planned to go to a different place. I'm glad I ended up at this back alley random spot. Their char siu was very lean but tender and flavorful. The meat is covered in a sauce that's made up of honey and Chinese 5 spice. Don't leave Guangzhou without trying some of that delicious looking meat hanging in the windows.
Finally, I stopped at a restaurant that is pretty famous in Guangzhou. They're noodles are some of the best in the city, but their real specialty is deep-fried wontons. The crispy cracker-like wrapper is crunchy but almost fluffy. Dip them in the sweet chili sauce and change your life forever as you put this amazing treat in your mouth.

Hong Kong Food Tour - Breakfast, Bamboo Noodles Won Ton, and Chinese Dai Pai Dong Feast!
►Hong Kong Travel Guide for Food Lovers:
►25 Must-Eat Dishes in Hong Kong:
►Subscribe to my videos:
On Day 37 of our Round The World Trip For Food, we continued the food tour of Hong Kong starting with a classic Hong Kong breakfast of lemon tea and a beef and scrambled egg sandwich. We then had some delicious bamboo pounded noodles and wonton, and then continued to have dinner at a famous dai pai dong.
00:29 Sun Hang Yuen (新香園 堅記 Thank you to Josephine for this recommendation) - For breakfast in Hong Kong we headed over to Sham Shui Po and went to a classic Hong Kong cafe and restaurant called Sun Hang Yuen (新香園 堅記). I ordered my usual hot lemon tea, a glass of black tea with a half of a lemon chopped up inside. It was wonderful. We then had a beef and scrambled egg sandwich, which was surprisingly much better than I thought it was going to be. The bread was toasted wonderfully and the beef and eggs on the inside tasted so good, fried in what I think was butter. Total price - 33 HKD ($4.25)
4:58 Sham Shui Po market - After eating breakfast we walked around the Sham Shui Po market, a local fresh wet market in Hong Kong. The market was busy and stocked with everything you could imaging that goes into Hong Kong food.
6:29 Kwan Kee Bamboo Noodle (坤記竹昇面) - There are many famous restaurants in Hong Kong that serve egg noodles and wonton, but I really wanted to find a restaurant that specialized in bamboo kneaded noodles, which is becoming harder and harder to find in Hong Kong. So finally I found a place called Kwan Kee Bamboo Noodle (坤記竹昇面), a new restaurant that uses the owner's family recipe and technique for making his noodles. I was hoping to get to see the noodles being made, but unfortunately they weren’t making them at the time we got there to eat. Nevertheless, the noodles were still made using a bamboo pole to knead the dough. The noodles were amazing, had such a fantastic texture to them, and the wontons were equally as delicious. It was a fantastic noodle eating experience in Hong Kong. Total price - 84 HKD ($10.83)
13:11 Mong Kok, Ladies Market - Mongkok is one of the most famous areas in Hong Kong for shopping, and we walked around the area for a little bit. Ladies Market is a walking street flea market where you’ll find everything from clothes to souvenirs to luggage.
16:40 Tsim Sha Tsui, Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Star Ferry - 2.3 HKD ($0.30) - After walking around Mongkok we took the bus over to Tsim Sha Tsui to walk around and enjoy the views of the skyline of Hong Kong.
18:26 Tung Po Restaurant at Java Road Market (Thank you to Charles for this recommendation) - For dinner, we went to Java Road Market, and to a restaurant called Tung Po, that’s a well known dai pai dong restaurant within the market. They serve a huge menu of different Cantonese and even Thai dishes. My wife and I ordered a couple of different dishes, the highlight of the meal being the razor clams stir fried in black bean sauce. In addition to the food, the ambiance of the restaurant is exactly what you want in Hong Kong. Total price - 464 HKD ($59.83)
26:00 A Symphony of Lights - Finally to end this day of food in Hong Kong we went back to Tsim Sha Tsui to see the symphony of lights show.

Chinese Street Food Shanghai - Chinese Street Food - Street Food China
Chinese street food and Chinese Food in China is incredibly delicious! So I flew to Shanghai, China and have been eating street food, noodles, and dumplings non-stop. Best Street Food to try! The Chinese food is so good in Shanghai! I've eaten street food in Bejing, street food in Chengdu, street food in Xi’an, street food in Guangzhou, and now, street food in Shanghai. A lot of the street food in Shanghai is similar to other street food in China. You can find some unique Shanghai street food specialties here, like xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), shengjianbao (pan fried dumplings), seafood on the street, and some delicious noodles as well. You can also enjoy countless other street foods in Shanghai, many featured in this video.
