Gucun Park Cherry Blossom Festival | Shanghai
Hey peoples! We went hunting for Cherry Blossoms today at Gucun Park and Garden. The Park opens up at 6am and I would suggest getting there early in the day and leaving by 12/1pm (Cause it gets crazy afterwards)
Most of the Cherry Blossoms hadn’t blossomed but there were a few good ones. And to the girls dressed in traditional clothing who’s photoshoot we jumped into… Thanks!

I brave the hoardes and check out the Cherry Blossom Festival at Gucun Park in the north of Shanghai, and find out if it's possible to find any serenity in a park in China. If I was a prominent Chinese vlogger I'd probably name this 'What do Chinese parks REALLY look like?'

So it is Cherry Blossom season and we took at trip to Gucun Park in Shanghai. It is known for its gorgeous arrangement of flowers.
Sadly we went a bit too early and but it was a fun trip.

Unruly crowds tarnish festival
GUCUN Park in Baoshan District will increase volunteers and security guards to maintain order during the ongoing cherry blossom festival, which has almost been ruined by the rude behavior of many visitors.
Tens of thousands of people have visited the park during the Qingming Festival holiday and many climbed onto the fragile cherry trees, picked flowers or branches and left garbage scattered everywhere, Baoshan District government officials said yesterday.
Xu Diyi told Shanghai Daily she visited the park on Tuesday. I saw at least five people climb onto trees to pose for photographs, she said. Maybe there were too many people, so they had to do so to make sure they were the only one in the picture.
Some people made wreaths with the branches they picked from the trees, placed it on their head and took pictures as if they were ancient Greek goddesses, Xu said.
Littering was another problem.
Sometimes all I could see was empty food packages, waste tissue, paper cups and water bottles, Xu said.
Xu said she had been to Japan three times to see the country's famous cherry blossoms but that she never saw such rude behavior there.
Japanese often have snacks and drink sake under the cherry trees, but they never leave any waste.
District government officials said the park was not prepared for such a large turnout, therefore there were not enough liter bins in place for the holiday.

Cherry blossom at Long Museum (West Bund) Shanghai
Long Museum (West Bund) is one of the best location in Shanghai to photograph cherry blossom.
This is my first test video using the GH5s. The camera really delivers unparralleled image quality and packed with professional functions.
I don't think in day light the image quality from the 5S will be any better than the GH5, even my old GH4 can produce similar quality but the upgrade is necessary. 4k 60fps is absolutely mandatory nowadays and I used it to shoot up to 10000 ISO in dark and it's totally usable.

Gucun Park is a large park up north in Baoshan Qu. To get there you can take line number 7 and get out at its Gucun Park station. Take exit 3(as exit 2 is under construction now). Busy during weekends. It is worth to wait for the sightseeing train that goes around the park. Surprisingly lots of 3D dinosaurs, haunted houses or space exhibitions.
Entrance: 20rmb (don't forget to take your passport!)
Activities: 15–50rmb.
Opening hours: 6am to 6pm.
