Christmas Light Show 2011 from downtown Cambridge Ohio. One of the largest light shows on a public bldg in the U.S. Well worth the drive!!! Awesome to watch live!!! We were there 1.5 hrs in freezing temps and high winds. Loved it! You can also sit in your car and tune in your FM radio.

The Oldest House in Cambridge, Ohio
A freak tornado-like storm on June 29, 2012, tore down trees and nearly destroyed my father's office building in Cambridge, Ohio, originally built in the 1808-1815 timeframe. After a year and a half of restoration work, the house is in great shape and appears much as it did 140 years ago, based on a photograph believed to have been taken in the 1870s. This video briefly documents the building's construction history, the severe storm damage it took on June 29, 2012, and its full recovery to a state virtually identical to the way it appeared shortly after the Civil War.

In the Guernsey County Courthouse in Cambridge, Ohio, there are seven sets of pictures of members of the county's bar association hanging on an upstaris corridor's walls. The picture sets were compiled in 1952, 1963, 1973, 1980, 1991, 1997, and 2005. By Photoshopping individual attorneys' photos in reverse time sequence in this video, you can see them time-lapse back to their youth.

This is the grand finale of the annual courthouse lighting ceremony at the Courthouse in Newark, Ohio. Because I wasn't able to film this year's event, I thought I'd upload the 2006 festivities. They really weren't much different...All the smalltown goodness and cheer. Merry Christmas!
They have big band style holiday music with a live band and singers, plus some area choral groups. It's a really big to-do. People from a local church hand out free hot chocolate and popcorn, and on another part of the square, there's a living nativity complete with camels and sheep. Some of the land on courthouse square is privately-owned, thus the ability to mix church and state.
It's a huge thing for our town, so much fun. It's funded in part by a car show held on the square every summer, the Light The Night Car Show. A few years back, the lighting was in danger of being discontinued...I'm so glad it wasn't.
