Galápagos Islands with Lindblad Expeditions & National Geographic
Mundy's Sales & Marketing Manager Eli Parry visited the Galápagos Islands with Lindblad Expeditions and Nationals Geographic onboard National Geographic Endeavour in October 2014. Here is the Voyage DVD that was produced by the video chronicler onboard.
Galapagos Islands Day 1: Santa Cruz Island
Be sure to check out for more of my photography from the Galapagos Islands and around the world.
So, I've made it to the Galapagos Islands for the Feel Again project with the Ecuadorian Ministry of Tourism. The assignment has me on the Galapagos Islands for 4 days in total, which might not seem like much. However, since we're a part of a project, I'm sure that we'll have a lot of time to shoot photos and get the images of the islands we're hoping for.
This is now my second trip to the Galapagos Islands and I'm stoked for the adventure. On Day 1, we arrive on Santa Cruz Island and visit the Giant Tortoises as well as a lava cave. The giant tortoises on Santa Cruz are impressive to say the least, and the overcast skies meant that I got some pretty cool photos of the prehistoric animals.
Anyways, I hope you like the video from day 1. Be sure to stay tuned for the rest of the episodes from the Galapagos Islands and beyond!

JBL Expedition 2012: Ecuador - Galapagos - Santa Cruz
????Visiting the Charles Darwin Research Center in Galapagos Islands ????????Santa Cruz Island Ecuador
Each island within the Galapagos has a unique species of tortoise. Visiting the Charles Darwin Research Center on Santa Cruz is a great way to see the different sub-species of Galapagos tortoises, the Galapagos finches, and many of the other plant species.
Although it is not uncommon to stumble upon some of these gentle giants as you begin exploring the island outside of Puerto Ayora, the research center provides a great way to get up close to the best part - BABY TURTLES! The site is also the former home of the late Lonesome George, the last of his sub-species of tortoise.
We had rented bikes for the day so we took the rest of the daylight exploring the island and stumbling into various tanning spots for the marine iguanas. As usual, we opted to avoid the touristy crowds and dine with the locals, so we capped the night off with dinner and drinks at a night-market hidden just off the main strip (Av. Seymour).

San Cristobal and the town of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno was a highlight of our time in the Galapagos. In this video you will see a bit more of the trails, wildlife, and snorkeling you can do within walking distance of the town (including one of the most friendly sea turtles around. Santa Cruz II by Metropolitan Touring - Galapagos Cruise Ship
Discover the Galapagos Islands in the utmost safety, comfort and exclusivity on our most modern cruise ship yet: the Santa Cruz II. We invite you to join us, the pioneers of Galapagos tours, on an unforgettable experience to traverse the Enchanted Isles.
The Santa Cruz II is a multiple-guided ship. What does that mean? It means that, unlike smaller ships that make up the majority of Galapagos Islands cruise ships, our vessel has multiple guides on board, allowing guests to go on excursions with smaller-sized groups. This offers further divisions based on interests, language and activity level. The Santa Cruz's larger size also allows for a higher level of exclusivity because, according to the Galapagos National Park rules, each site has a limit on the number of people, not the number of vessels.

First Impression of Galapagos... One of the TOP Places On Our Bucket List!
See how to travel from Guayaquil, Ecuador to #PuertoAyora on Isla Santa Cruz, #Galapagos Islands. Take note that most people spend a small fortune to visit Galapagos by taking cruises which cost well into five figures. In this series of #TravelVlogs, we’re going to show you how to do more and spend less. So BE sure to watch our entire vlog series so that you can plan out your travel activities.
Because of how far the islands are from the mainland AND the entire Galapagos cluster of islands is an archipelago of volcanic islands, food & supplies are shipped in, which contributes to higher prices. But you don’t have to spend as much as you think, which allows more travelers to check this destination off their bucket list and experience the Galapagos sooner than people imagine.
Galapagos Islands along with all of Ecuador uses USD as their currency.
Before leaving Guayaquil, we paid for a $20 transit pass at the airport that must be purchased per traveler. Upon arriving to the Seymour Airport on Isla Baltra, we had to pay the $100 Galapagos Island Fee which goes towards maintenance of the islands, conservation, protection of the animals, infrastructure and the employees doing all the work (we found this out from one of the island’s National Park Rangers.)
After going through the airport, there’s a $5 bus fee to go to the Baltra Ferry which is $1 fee to cross the Itabaca Channel. Once you cross the channel, there’s two options to head 40ish km to Puerto Ayora:
Option 1: Take the $25 Taxi which is the island’s “transport” service and is 4-door pick-up truck
Option 2: Take the bus for $5
We ended up splitting the $25 taxi fee with a couple from the Netherlands, as it’s a directional fee, not a per-person fee! SCORE!
Stay tuned for more Galapagos travel vlog vids!

The MAGICAL and CRAZY Fish Market in the Galapagos!
#galapagos #fishmarket #galapagosislands
This was one of the most incredible and crazy places we have ever been to - the fish market in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos. It truly was magical, the way that the wildlife mingled with people like it was a completely natural thing to do, which of course in the Galapagos Islands, it is! Watch how the sea lions get the 'lions share' at the expense of the pelicans and herons, and the Marine Iguanas sneak in for a feast at the end! It really is quite unbelievable! WARNING: Music is very cheesy!

Enchanted Galapagos Lodge on Santa Cruz Island - Yoga & Meditation Retreat Hotel
Did you know we own & operate a lodge in Galápagos? Enchanted Galapagos Lodge - Santa Cruz Island is a great place to connect with nature ???? It's perfect for ???? yoga, mindfulness or ???? art retreats! The lodge is located on 90 acres, surrounded by lovely trees & gardens. You can rest before or after a cruise around the Islands, or use it as a base to explore the many visitor sites of Santa Cruz. Every morning awake to the sound of island birds, and enjoy a fresh breakfast in our open air dining room. We use fruits from our garden at the lodge for breakfast, including papaya & ????pineapple. Then venture off on a bike trip to nearby Garrapatero beach, explore the town of Puerto Ayora, or visit the world famous Tortuga Bay Beach. For a day of rest, stay at the lodge to walk in our gardens, do some yoga on the deck, lay on a hammock & read, enjoy the pool, or relax with a glass of ???? wine by the fireplace in the evening.
✨This tranquil oasis has 10 newly renovated, air-conditioned rooms, an outdoor pool & hot tub, and numerous, shaded open air lounges. Only a 15 minute drive to the lively town of Puerto Ayora, this location offers the best of both worlds. The temperature is cooler in the Highlands of Santa Cruz, and it's peacefully silent at night. Once the lights go out in the evening, the night stars are incredible!
✨The Enchanted Galapagos Lodge (formerly the Altair Galapagos Lodge) is well-known to Santa Cruz Island from when it was first established over 20 years ago as a restaurant, then later as a lodge. In 2017, it was sold to family friend Judy Carvalhal (CEO of Enchanted Expeditions), and her children Tatjana Angermeyer and Joshua Angermeyer, and has been re-opened to the public as of January 2018. We look forward to welcoming you! ✨ #galapagos #island #yoga #yogaretreat #retreathotel
