2019 Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon
Macon, Georgia International Cherry Blossom Festival 2019
Friday April 19, 2019
Macon, Georgia, United States
Wow Macon, Georgia what a wonderful place to capture and experience!
Friday night, we photographed the very colorful lights of the carnival and the Prince tribute band Purple Madness. I've always been a Prince fan and even saw him in concert twice. With the spectacular performance at the well-manicured Central City Park, it allowed me to relive the sounds and feeling of Prince, just Amazing! Being the last to leave, the police kindly greeted us and helped us to our car. As we rode on the back of a golf cart with 2 police cars behind us, it made us feel very special as if were in a police escort!
The weather on Saturday was perfect, making our walk around downtown Macon very enjoyable. We captured the beautiful cherry blossoms, events of the Cherry Festival, and even a pink bicycle of a kind gentleman. Everyone in the town, and throughout the weekend, had genuine southern manners and made me feel like I was back at home in Alabama.
Saturday night we photographed the Bollywood Ball at the beautiful Macon City Auditorium. People came from other cities and states to attend this wonderful event and were dressed very pretty; even the men! We had the opportunity to meet Sarah Harkins, the events coordinator for Macon's Cherry Festival that night. She and everyone else we met welcomed us with open arms. With the quality of food and catering from Cast Iron Catering and the amazing sounds and entertainment of Papa Sol, it's one of the best events we've been to!
For so many reasons, Macon, Georgia's International Cherry Blossom Festival overachieves it's ranking as one of Georgia's best events to attend! We are looking forward to our next trip to Macon.

Design Forward at Cooper Hewitt: The Unveiling of Delta Sphere
In October, we were joined at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum alongside Interior Designer Nate Berkus to showcase the evolution of home design to a full house of design enthusiasts. The event culminated with the unveiling of Delta Sphere, a conceptual faucet designed to evoke spa-like serenity thanks to its thin, 3D-printed band that wraps around a floating globe of water to create an almost magical water experience. Watch to see how this celebratory night at National Design Week unfolded.

Three more Christian PSAs from KNLJ
More cheesy Christian PSAs recorded in the late 90s/2000 from KNLJ, New Bloomfield, MO though surely dating from years before. The first one(sorry for the late start, but that's all this tape has :() which for the lack of a real title I'll call Tell Somebody is one I remember from as long as I ever watched that station. The second PSA God Cares looks straight from the 70s. The third, an old Seed From The Sower clip is part of a series the station ran for years(and may still be for all I know). This particular one seems to be one of the older versions featuring that scary or funny(depending on your perspective) camera logo. I learned that Michael Guido who made these died in February of this year in his 90s and was still making these segments posting them to youtube.
