A PERFECT PORTUGAL ROAD TRIP | BRAGA, GUIMARÃES + PENEDA-GERÊS
It’s time to go on a road trip in Portugal! If you saw my last Portugal vlog, you’ll know that I spent one week in Porto. I was there to explore because it was my first time in Portugal, but I ended up having to work most of the week - oops! So, I decided to squeeze some of the best towns in Northern Portugal (and the best days trip from Porto) into one day and take a little Portugal road trip. I wanted to write a guide to Northern Portugal with some easy day trips from Porto on my travel blog, so I choose a few places that I wanted to include: Braga, Guimarães and the beautiful Peneda-Gerês National Park.
I hope you enjoy joining us on this Portgual road trip. I would have loved to have done these trips separately and spent more time in Braga, Guimarães + Peneda-Gerês National Park, but sadly my week in Porto was already coming to an end. Still, I’m glad I managed to see a good amount of Northern Portugal and it’s always nice to have a reason to come back - something I’m sure will happen very soon :)
Thanks for joining me on this little Portugal road trip to Braga, Guiaraes and Penedea-Geres National Park. As always, thanks for watching and see you in the next one!

Gymnastic Training Center of Guimarães by Pitagorasgroup
The gymnastic training center of Guimarães is located at the east limit of the city park and was conceived for practice and training of high performance gymnastics. The training center achieved high performance ratings by the LiderA system, with an a++ certification, recognition which is rare in sustainability, not only in Portugal but all around the world.
The training center is exclusive for the practice of high performance gymnastics and consists of a pavilion, a gym, locker rooms, administrative offices and public spaces that grant access to the stands. The facade, built from dark agglomerate cork, is a perfect example of that versatility, intending to represent a strong design trait for the project while keeping the association with the environmental sustainability.
The volumetric composition of the building was defined by its core programmatic needs and by the will to create a building that is integrated in the local landscape. The building searches for scale and references on the surroundings, using its volumetric presence to create another element for the park walking paths, like the entrance plaza.
