Inauguration of Maguino-o Port Projects (Speech) 4/26/2013
Calbayog, Western Samar 26 April 2013
President Benigno S. Aquino III inaugurated the newly constructed Passenger Terminal Building and pier extension of Maguino-o Port in Calbayog City, Western Samar.
Malinaw ang pakinabang na hatid ng isang mas malawak at mas modernong Maguino-o Port: mas maraming barko ang dadaong sa inyong bayan para magdala ng iba't-ibang produkto sa inyong lalawigan, the President said.
He added that the project would not only encourage trade for both incoming and outgoing products but would also help boost domestic tourism in the locality. He also cited several potential tourist destinations in the region such as the Bangon Falls, Guinogo-an Cave and Malajog Beach that will result to job generation.
The President also mentioned other infrastructure projects that the government is pushing for such as the rehabilitation of Catbalogan Diversion Road and other national secondary roads in the province of Samar and Eastern Samar, and the Samar Pacific Coastal Road Project that will connect the Northern and Eastern Samar.
Ang sistema natin: palakasin ang mga programang may direktang pakinabang ang mamamayan, at siguraduhing ang mga gagawa nito ay mga taong talagang maassahan, he said.
The PhP38.59 million worth of projects for the Maguino-o Port was implemented by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) to serve as an alternate port for the City Port of Calbayog which had to be constantly dredged due to siltation problem.
President Aquino also announced that an additional Php10 million was allocated this year to modernize the port through the installation of port lights, fences, and water supply system.

The process of getting coconuts
After visiting the Guinogo-an Cave in Brgy. Lungsod, Kuya just climbed the tree and got 4 free coconuts for us to enjoy. And the tree was just crazily high. He was so brave.
