【4K】Gujo town and Gujo Hachiman castle
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
As one of Patreon users asked I visited Gujo town which is in one hour by bus from Gifu station. Funny but most of places I visited I got from viewers, knew nothing about them before. Very tourist oriented town but most of tourists are Japanese. There is also a castle there, lost few litters of sweat climbing there with camera but there is nice view from there. Expect to spend a lot of money if you decide to stay there, for food too, though there are some cheap places.

Visiting the Water City in Japan: Gujo Hachiman Fake food, Koi, Shrines, and a Castle 郡上八幡
One of the most beautiful towns I have ever been to. It feels like a magical little fairytale town filled with fake food, koi, shrines, and a CASTLE!!! 10/10 worth the trip.

As I was asked by one of viewers from Patreon I going to this place I have no much idea about. Should be rural historical area with the castle. I hope mobile connection will be good there.

The Water City | Gujo Hachiman 名水の町・郡上八幡
Gujo Hachiman, also known as the Water City! It's just about in the middle of Gifu Prefecture, and I highly, highly recommend visiting!! It's a mountain city with rivers running through the middle. There are koi fish everywhere, you can jump into the water, and the are tons of old-fashioned stores with awesome things to look at. I absolutely loved it!

撮影当日は、早朝にやや雲があったものの、好天に恵まれ、郡上八幡城の迫力ある映像を撮影することができました。お城と城下町の絶景をお楽しみください。

Gujo Hachiman is first and foremost a castle town. Gujo Hachiman castle has played a significant role in the town's history since its fortuned over the past five hundred years.
The presence of a castle, and local feudal lord, made Gujo Hachiman a local centre of finance, politics and trade. This contributed significantly to the wealth of the town's inhabitants.
At the end of the Edo period, Lord Aoyama came to Gujo Hachiman from Kyoto. He brought with him many traditions, customs and practices, including culture and architecture, from what was and still is the cultural heart of Japan. You can still hear a little bit of Kyoto today, such as when locals use ookini to say thank-you instead of arigato.

Located in central Gifu, Gujō Hachiman seems to be one of those small towns where time passes by ten times slower than usual. At the confluence of the upper Nagara-gawa (river) and the Yoshida-gawa (river), this town, founded in the 16th century following the construction of the Hachiman Castle, is known for two main things. Firstly, its pristine waterways where many people come and fish, and secondly for its unique summer dance festival, the Gujo Dori which continues from July to September for a period of thirty-one nights!

Gujo Hachiman - A town of water and a castle - : 郡上八幡 - 水と城の町 -
Gujo Hachiman is a town of water and a castle in Gifu Prefecture.
There are canals in the town and people wash vegetables and clothes there.
Gujo Hachiman-jo or Gujo Hachiman castle was constructed in 1559 and demolished in 1870. After that, it was reconstructed in 1933.
The holes on the walls of the castle are called sama and it means arrow-slit. During a war, samurai aimed arrows and guns at enemies through them.
This channel is for introduction to Japanese culture, tradition and life in Japan.

郡上八幡は岐阜県にある水と城の町です。町中には疎水があり、野菜や洗濯物などを洗うのに使います。
郡上八幡城は永禄2年（1559年）に作られましたが、明治3年（1870年）に取り壊されました。その後、昭和8年（1933年）に再建されました。
城の塀にある穴は狭間（さま）と呼ばれ、戦の時にはそこから弓矢や鉄砲で攻撃しました。
