Manali is a high-altitude Himalayan resort town in India’s northern Himachal Pradesh state. It has a reputation as a backpacking center and honeymoon destination. Set on the Beas River, it’s a gateway for skiing in the Solang Valley and trekking in Parvati Valley. It's also a jumping-off point for paragliding, rafting, and mountaineering in the Pir Panjal mountains, home to 4,000m-high Rohtang Pass.

Located at a distance of 14 km from Manali, Solang Valley is a well-renowned destination for adventure activities in Himachal Pradesh. People who are bored with their life monotony and want to try some offbeat things in Manali can indulge adrenaline pumping adventure activities like paragliding, parachuting, and skiing. Solang is not just about adventure, it also offers a beautiful view of snow-capped peaks, lush green mountains, apple orchards, and lakes makes it a hotspot for the people visiting in Manali.
Opening hours: Unlike the Rohtang Valley, Solang is open throughout the year. However, you can try adventure sports only between 9 A.M and 5 P.M.
For skiing, the ideal time is between 10 A.M and 2 P.M.
Gulaba-
Gulaba is a small village near Manali which is located on the road to Rohtang pass. Named after Raja Gulab Singh of Kashmir, the village of Gulaba is flanked by the picturesque beauty of snow covered mountains, grasslands and the Beas river that washes away its landscapes. Owing to such an amazing topography. Being reputed as a heavy snowfall region, the landscapes of Gulaba have turned out to be a hub for adventure sports.

Manali to Gulaba Road trip done in March 2019, This year Himalayas received lots of snowfall, After palchan till gulaba point there was snow on both sides of road. There were 15-20 ft snowwalls at some places.

Manali to Gulaba / Rohtang by road
Gulaba is a village in the State of Himachal Pradesh, India located at height of 4,300 metres (14,100 ft) from sea level. It is 27 km away from Manali and 25 km from Rohtang pass. The village is ultimately beautiful. As per the order of National Green Tribunal Act, permits are given to up to only 800 petrol vehicles and 400 diesel vehicles to visit Gulaba & Rohtang Pass.
Rohtang Pass faces heavy snowfall season which lasts from November to March. Thus way upto Rohtang pass is opened around may. The area is filled with beautiful scenery and flora.

Gulaba Snow Point, MANALI | Day 2
If not Rohtag Pass then GULABA snow point is a place to be visited to have similar feeling of snow as Rohtang almost remains closed during snow fall. Since Rohtang Pass was closed, we had no option but to go Gulaba snow point. The road to Gulaba snow point generally gets opened by 9 in the morning - so start early from Manali and pass the check-post before it is closed. So, don't miss visiting this place. It is worth the effort.

They say that over 2/3rd of the world’s population hasn’t seen a snowfall. And we rascals were really lucky to be around. 1st snow of d season is always special. Nov14th’ 2017: Relished the charm of Old Manali village a few kms. up from The hustle bustle of Mall Road, Manali. It snowed in Rohtang that night. Nov 15th: trekked down to Manali Mall Road. Got a cab, headed towards Rohtang which to our fear was closed to to heavy snow.
Halted at Gulaba (25kms) uphill Manali. Rest is story. Lol????❄️❄️❄️❄️

Manali to Gulaba snow point distance is 14 kms which will take approx 30 minutes from vehicle drop point you need to walk for 30 min to 1 hour hill to reach the snow point
get your snow dress from Manali or on the way to Gulaba there are plenty of shops where they charge 250 INR for Snow dress and shoes for rent.

Manali Tour 2019 | Gulaba | Rohtang Pass | Keylong | Himachal Pradesh | Silk City
Our journey was on 3 June 2019 from Manali to Keylong via Kothi, Gulaba, Rohtang Pass and Koksar. We have started our journey from Manali at 3:00pm. We have stayed at Keylong over night.
This journey was very nice with scenic view of snow caped mountains. On the way to Keylong, we have got heavy clouds, rains and sunny weather. It was adventurous tour ever.

My FIRST Live SNOWFALL in MANALI Vlog | Gulaba Valley | Solang Valley | Manali Trip from Delhi
This Vlog is based on my trip to Manali from Delhi and this was first time I ever experienced Snowfall in Manali.
It was simply a superb experience. Manali starts getting Snowfall from around mid December, which lasts till mid February. So, if you are looking to enjoy Snowfall in Manali, you can visit in these 2 months. If you are lucky enough, you will get to see Live Snowfall. We got to see it on both the days we stayed there i.e., from 10th and 11th January 2020.
Gulaba Valley has a higher probabilty of getting snowfall, so we went there first. Solang Valley is quite popular for a lot of adventure activities like Paragliding, Snow Scooters, Skiing, Zorbing etc. So, we didn't miss out on this place as well :)
We also wanted to visit Rohtang Pass but it remains closed from November to April.

Day 1(09/01/2020) : Delhi to Manali by Volvo Bus
Volvo Bus Ticket : Rs.950/- per person (Price ranges from Rs.800-1200. If you book in advance, it will cost you lesser)
