He has become a beloved partner to domestic and foreign tourism boards, and has traveled everywhere from Virginia to Thailand, and Canada to Sweden, working as a brand ambassador.
ABOUT THIS ADVENTURE FILM:
In this video Cameron Phillips shows you how to spend a 12 hour stopover in Iceland. With only 12 hours in the country there is a surprising amount of things you can do with a rental car and some planning. I managed to visit Gullfoss Waterfall, which was only a 2.5 hour drive from the airport, the Geyser park, and even visit downtown Reykjavik. Traveling to Iceland is great because you can see so much and do so much in 1 day close to the airport. The stunning landscape of Iceland makes for great visuals for this Iceland Travel Vlog.
On the way to Golden Circle Tour: ICELAND.
Our Golden Circle Tour was really amazing.
It was an 8 hours sightseeing in a mini bus. All of us were excited.
After our pick up early in the morning at bus stop 9, we started by driving directly over the mountains . What a view!! Incredible sceneries.
First stop we visited Fridheiman tomato green house. It was also interesting.
Second stop we felt the spray of the Gullfoss Waterfalls,
3rd. stop was a dramatic waiting for the spouting Geyser on Geothermal field & the last stop, we walked between the North American Eurosian plates in Thingvellir National Park.
It was a gigantic experience we got.

#5 Iceland, day 4, the Golden Circle (Direct) tour
Well, it took ages for me to walk the 2km from the hotel to the bus terminal where the tour was going to start. At the same time a serious snow storm. Was about to cancel the whole thing and call a cab to take me back to the hotel.
But after getting to the terminal and hopping to the bus, the weather started to clear up, and the rest is history. It certainly was the best day of the Iceland trip. Felt like accomplishing something by actually taking part to the tour, and holy moly it was beautiful! And in the end, an extremely happy feeling when I walked the last little climb back to the buses from the Gullfoss viewing platform.
One could argue that the Finnish Lapland and Iceland resemble each other partly when there's some snow, but no, this was something totally different. Gotta get back some year in the middle of the summer, even though they told there's usually not so warm and it rains constantly ????.

My trip to Reykjavik Iceland was amazing! I love all the hikes and hot springs they have. Everywhere you look is picture perfect. That being said… you pay for it. Almost everything in Iceland needs to be imported, so things tend to be extremely pricey. Blue Lagoon in Iceland (at early dawn)
Blue Lagoon spa is world's largest geothermal spa an absolute gem of Iceland and is considered to be part of the Top 25 of Natural Wonders of the world.
Relax and reset your mind at one of the most incredible places on earth, the mesmerizing Blue Lagoon spa in Iceland at which you can bathe in geothermal water offering great health benefits.
It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The entrance fee was around $40 and they allowed me to store my suitcases safely since I came directly from the airport. You can primarily find tourists at the Blue Lagoon since it is in close proximity to the airport. Many tourists go to Iceland for a stopover on route to Europe or America and come here to relax.
The best time to go is during the early morning while it is still dark outside than you can see the sun slowly rise and experience a beautiful dawn inside the lagoon. The lagoon is a man-made lagoon which is fed by the water output of the nearby geothermal power plant Svartsengi and is renewed every two days.
The water temperature in the bathing and swimming area of the lagoon averages 37–39 °C (98–102 °F). The Blue Lagoon also operates a research and development facility to help find cures for other skin ailments using the mineral-rich water.
Superheated water is vented from the ground near a lava flow and used to run turbines that generate electricity. After going through the turbines, the steam and hot water passes through a heat exchanger to provide heat for a municipal water heating system. Then the water is fed into the lagoon for recreational and medicinal users to bathe in.

Iceland - 5 Days in February 2017!
This video is a mash up of a 5 day trip we took in Iceland from Feb 1 through Feb 6 2017. It was our first trip to Iceland but we did a bunch of research in preparation to the trip so that we could maximize our time on the island. We rented a car from Sad Cars, they were great to work with. Here is a run down of the day to day action.
Day 1 - We land at KEF around 5am. A very nice man from Sad Cars picks us up from the airport and we are on our way to their office (10 min car ride) to grab our rental. After that we directly drive from KEF to Jokulsarlon Ice Lagoon. In Feb in Iceland the sun doesnt rise until 10 AM so we tried to get their for sunrise but were a little late arriving around 11 AM. After that we worked our way back on the 1 to Svartifoss. After our hike at Svartifoss we continued working our way back to Vik and the black sand beach of Reynisfjara. Stayed at the Puffin Hotel in Vik (Great little hotel).
Day 2 - Left the hotel around 8 AM and headed to Dyrholaey Arch. It was still a bit dark and it was super windy and rainy up there but still was beautiful to see. After that we drove to the DC3 Plane wreck parking lot and had about a 2 hour total hike to the wreck. Then we proceed to drive to Skogafoss. After that we continued to a nice man made pool in the middle of the mountains for a nice swim. After drying off we drove to Seljalandsfoss. From there we drove to a nice little hot spring in Hruni. Finally we finished the day seeing Gullfoss and Geysir. Stayed at Geysir Hotel. This was a very long and compact day. Kind of hectic but totally worth it.
Day 3 - We left our hotel at Geysir and headed to Thingvellir National Park to see the GoT spot where they shot the Gate of the Eyrie. After that we headed to a tiny hole in the ground hot spring that was truly epic. From that hot spring we headed around the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, heading north towards kirkjufellsfoss. From that waterfall we headed to the tip of the peninsula to Saxholl Crater. We stopped plenty of times during this drive because the views were just unreal. After Saxholl we headed to our AirBnB for the night in Borgarnes.
Day 4 - Drove from Borgarnes to Reykjavik. Stayed in Reykjavik for the day/night and watched the Superbowl @ the American Bar (was the only bar that was allowed to be open that late, the game started at 11pm). Since we were in Reykjavik on a Sunday parking was free, that was a nice perk.
Day 5 - We drove from Reykjavik to the Blue Lagoon for 9 AM. After that we drove around the Rekjanes Peninsula. We saw many different sites including Brimketill and the Bridge Between Continents. Finally we dropped off our rental at Sad Cars and then they drove us back to the airport for our flight leaving to Boston @ 4:30 PM.
Overall Iceland is truly an unbelievable place and this video doesn't do it justice. If you are thinking of going, do it!

Strokkur Geysir Strikes Again! Iceland's natural wonder in action near Gullfoss waterfall
Be careful what you wish for! I wanted a full force display of the geysir (one of only 5 still active in the world!) and we got a double whammy! Or as my little one likes to say Hot!Hot!Hot!
Moments later I felt better when some brave teenagers got soaked as they got too close. Bottom line you gotta respect Mother Nature...and the signs!
I highly recommend visiting Iceland ( 5 hours direct flight from Boston) and touring the country side - land of the mighty Vikings!

Entry Title: The Golden Circle Day Tour
Entry:
So, being sick of Reykjavik and its stink weather I became a tourist and booked a day bus tour on a circuit to some of Icelands most well known scenic locations. And the best news was the weather was awesome. The first stop was Gulfoss which is a fantastic waterfall that seemingly plunges into a massive rift in the ground. It was possible to view it from multiple angles, either from above, behind, in front, or below, and if you were stupid enough you were able to get so close as to be able to dip your hand in. The other cool effect was a water mist that would form and drift across people using handycams and other expensive non-waterproof pieces of technology. I really enjoyed it there and took heaps of photos (which I will post tomorrow when my battery is recharged!). The next stop on the tour was Geysir, the place from where all Geysirs in the world get their name. There are apparently three Geysirs in the one place, but only one is active enough for the impatient to see. It is called Strokkur (butter churn) and is actually the worlds most reliable (hence best) geysir, erupting about once every 6 - 8 minutes, and it shoots up quite high too. Like most attractions in Iceland it is literally just a hole in the middle of a field where water shoots out, which is great for the tourist because it means you can stand as close as you like to it and encircle it. I took my lunch and sat beside the geysir to see it go off a few times. The crowd that didnt realise why the majority of people were on one particular side provided the most entertainment. They thought they had hit the jackpot and were able to take a clean shot of their friends standing infront of the geysir as went off, but of course it provided great amusement when the massive plume of water would come directly down on top of them mid-shot. Lucky for them the water has cooled by the time it comes down (the reason the geysir goes off is because the water from the ground is boiling) but hot steam would blow across them. The final stop on the tour is þingvellur (þ = Th), or the Alþing, which is the home of the worlds oldest parliament. Since the time of settlement (about 980AD) Icelanders would gather here for two weeks each July to discuss and make the laws of the land. The poor Lawspeaker was entrusted with memorising the laws and reciting them out each year. It was another pretty place, significant mostly to the Icelanders for its history in building their nation, but also geologically as it is right on the edge of two techtonic plates that are dramatically (and visibly) tearing themselves apart. Satisfied with the tour and excited to see more of the Icelandic countryside I booked another bus trip up to the Snæfells Peninsula which I will tell you about in the next blog! -mike
