china vlog40 Buddhist Tiantai 天台 Taizhou Guoqing Temple 国清寺 國清寺
Tiantai 天台 is a school of #Buddhism in China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam that reveres the #Lotus Sutra as the highest teaching in Buddhism. In Japan the school is known as #Tendai, in Korea as Cheontae, and in Vietnam as Thiên thai. The name is derived from the fact that Zhiyi (538–597 CE), the fourth patriarch, lived on Tiantai Mountain. Zhiyi is also regarded as the first major figure to make a significant break from the Indian tradition, to form an indigenous Chinese system. Tiantai is sometimes also called The Lotus School, after the central role of the Lotus Sutra in its teachings.
The #Guoqing #Temple #国清寺 #國清寺 is a Buddhist temple on #MountTiantai, in #Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, China. Originally built in 598 during the Sui Dynasty, and renovated during the reign of the Qing Yongzheng Emperor (r. 1722–1735), the temple is located roughly 220 kilometres (140 mi) from the city of #Hangzhou. It was the initial site for the creation of the Tiantai school of #Mahayana #Buddhism, founded by Zhiyi (538–597 AD). The temple covers an area of some 23,000 m2 (250,000 sq ft) and features 600 rooms in a total of 14 different halls, including the Grand Hall of Sakyamuni, the Hall of Five Hundred Arhats and the Hall of Monk Jigong. The exterior of the building features Chinese pagodas such as the Sui #Pagoda, the Seven #Buddha Pagoda, and the #Memorial Pagoda of #Monk Yi Xing (683–727 AD)

During the Sui dynasty, the Tiantai school became one of the leading schools of Chinese Buddhism, with numerous large temples supported by emperors and wealthy patrons. The school's influence waned and was revived again through the Tang dynasty and also rose again during the Song dynasty. Its doctrine and practices had an influence on Chinese Chan and Pure land Buddhism.

Mount Jiu Hua and its Temples
Mount Jiuhua (Nine Glorious Mountains) is one of the four sacred mountains of Chinese Buddhism. It is located in Qingyang County in Anhui province and is famous for its rich landscape and ancient temples.
Many of the mountain's shrines and temples are dedicated to Ksitigarbha, who is a bodhisattva and protector of beings in hell realms according to Mahayana Buddhist tradition. Pious Buddhists often visit Anhui to climb to Greater Tiantai peak, which is regarded as Jiuhuashan's most important peak, although it is not the tallest.

Imperial Ancestry Temple Tour / 太庙 / 太廟
The main complex of the Imperial Ancestral Temple / 太庙 / 太廟 was closed for event preparations when I was there. The complex is a historic site in the Imperial City, just outside the Forbidden City, where during both the Ming and Qing Dynasties, sacrificial ceremonies were held on the most important festival occasions in honor of the imperial family's ancestors.
The temple, which resembles the Forbidden City's ground plan, is a cluster of buildings in three large courtyards separated by walls. The main hall inside the temple is the Hall for Worship of Ancestors, which is one of only four buildings in Beijing to stand on a three-tiered platform, a hint that it was the most sacred site in imperial Beijing. It contains seats and beds for the tablets of emperors and empresses, as well as incense burners and offerings. On the occasion of large-scale ceremonies for worship of ancestors, the emperors would come here to participate.
Flanking the courtyard in front of this hall are two long, narrow buildings. These were worship halls for various princes and courtiers. The Western Wing housed the memorial tablets of meritorious courtiers, while the Eastern Wing enshrined various princes of the Ming or Qing dynasty.
Behind the Hall for Worship of Ancestors are two other main halls. The first was built in 1420 and used to store imperial ancestral tablets.
By the 1920s, the Imperial Ancestral Temple and its surrounding spaces had become a public park, and that public park today has been expanded from its original size and is now also known as the Working People's Cultural Palace (劳动人民文化宫). This park was extended based on the Imperial Ancestral Hall site, and the park is located east of Tiananmen, while the Zhongshan Park lies to the west. These two parks along with Beihai Park and Jingshan and several other parks have a deep historic tie with the Forbidden City.

Waterfall Resumes after 60 Years' Disappearance in East China
Turbulent flow poured down the Tiantai Mountain in Taizhou City of east China's Zhejiang Province on Thursday after 60 years' cutoff.
With an overall height of 325 meters, the Tiantai Mountain Waterfall has several stairs. Its maximum width is 90 meters.
The original natural waterfall disappeared 60 years ago due to the construction of a reservoir and a power plant in order to meet local demand of electricity and irrigation. Later a new reservoir was built at the upstream of the old one, which restored the waterfall.
The Tiantai Mountain Waterfall is an all-weather waterfall that has stable water storage and controllable flow.

Nanxi River Scenic Area- Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China
the nine dragons and the tiantai mountains
me reading another dragon story from panda books foreign language press Dragon Tales i do not own ether the story nor the translation and did not intend any copyright infringement
Beauty of Zhejiang: Nanxi River, a place that is straight out of fairy tales
Never understand why,
Everybody rises and sighs.
Another day, another train…
Sitting in a suit and tie,
Desk overlook the sky,
A view to numb the pain.
Why not set out for a distant paradise,
Look back leisurely as your home receeds.
And you might measure me on the dwindling street
I’ll be walking, walking and walking top.
Come to Nanxi River,
Talk to yourself and get closer to nature.
