玉川寺庭園は1450年代に作庭され、1650年代の改修を経て今に伝えられています。自然の山から流れ落ちる滝を配し、大きな池を中心とした池泉廻遊式蓬莱庭園は石組も鋭く、地方稀に見る名園であります。1987年に国の文化財名勝に指定されました。
玉川寺は、今から凡そ７百有余年前の鎌倉時代（1251年）に開かれた曹洞宗（禅宗）の寺院です。
この寺を開いた了然法明禅師は、朝鮮高麗国の生まれで中国の経山寺で修行され、日本に渡来し、この地に留まり禅を広めました。
大本山永平寺開祖道元禅師の高弟でもありました。
We visited the Gyokusenji Temple where we had a tea ceremony, and the pagoda and shrine at Dewa Sanzan Jinja.

Mitama-matsuri Festival 2016 in Yasukuni-jinja Shrine, Tokyo/御魂祭, 靖國神社, 東京/#21
Yasukuni-jinja shrine where war deads by the war inside and outside Japan after 1853 are enshrined as gods. It was founded by Emperor Meiji in June 1869. Mitama-matsuri Festival that was begun to memorial the spirit of war dead in 1947 will be held for four days, from July 13 to 16 every year.
About 30,000 lanterns are raised in the precincts to comfort the spirits of the war dead, and it colors summer night of Tokyo beautifully. In addition, during this period, the dedication events such as Mikoshi portable shrine, Aomori Nebuta dance and various entertainment is performed in various places of the precincts, crowded with many worshipers and tourists every year.

PM Abe's aide visits Yasukuni Shrine during annual autumn festival

A close aide to the Japanese prime minister visited the controversial Yasukuni Shrine on Wednesday, a site that glorifies Japan's historical imperialism.
According to Japan's Kyodo News, Seiichi Eto, who is also a legislator, visited the shrine during the annual autumn festival.
The Yasukuni shrine honors Japan's war dead, including 14 Class-A war criminals.
Other officials to visit Wednesday included the first cabinet members to go during this year's event -- those were the country's communications minister and the minister who handles issues related to Japan's aging society.
Visits earlier this week by other lawmakers drew a prompt and stern rebuke from Korea's foreign ministry, which urged them to show sincere remorse for Japan’s past wrongdoing.
