Ha Giang Loop, Vietnam Vlog | 3 Day Adventure
This vlog follows our journey through the 3 day Ha Giang Loop in Vietnam! It can be done slower in a 4 or 5 day loop, but we had a time crunch and had to be back in Hanoi. We had an amazing adventurous time, saw the most beautiful scenery, and this is definitely one of our favorite activities that we've done so far during our year of travels.
ENJOY!

Nam Dam village – Quan Ba Ha Giang Trekking Tour , Home Stay Ha Giang
The Nam Dam village is located in Quan Ba district of Ha Giang province, is about 50 km from Ha Giang city.
Nam Dam Community-Based Eco Tourism
Nam Dam is 45km from Ha Giang city, and 3km from Tam Son town of Quan Ba district. It is inhabited by Dao Ethnic People (Indigo Dao or Long Dress Dao group). The charming village is nestled peacefully in a valley surrounded by karst mountains, holds inside it preserved traditional customs, habits and culture from ancient times which is appealing to tourists.
Visitors coming to Nam Dam could enjoy staying at homestays with the local family in their traditional houses. The houses' walls are built from compacted soil to make it cool in summer and warm in the winter, protecting the people here from inclement weather in the high mountains. With fully equipped facilities and equipments, the homestays will make visitors feel happy and comfortable.
In Nam Dam, visitors could also enjoy meals including local dishes and specialties prepared by the host from the cozy fire kitchen. For the Dao people, the fire kitchen is not just a place to cook food but also plays an important role in their spiritual life. Nowardays, though the living standard has been changing, the Dao people still maintain the fire kitchen as a Dao cultural tradition.
From mid-2015, visitors who have a higher demand for facilities can stay at the Dao Guesthouse. The Dao Guesthouse is situated in the center of the village, reflecting architecture of the traditional Dao house. It has 5 bedrooms and full amenities of bars, restaurants,...The staffs are villagers who have been trained to serve tourists professionally. At the Dao Guesthouse, visitors will also be provided with full information on Nam Dam tourism and book tours or other tourism services in the village.
Visitors coming to Nam Dam could walk around the village, enjoy beautiful view of the village with the high mountains and the lovely terraced fields, houses of earthen walls gleamed in the sun.In the village, there is a Cultural Museum which display Dao ethnic daily life tools and artifacts. Visitors also have the opportunity to experience hiking and trekking tours, biking tours, motorcycling tours to the neighboring villages of H'Mong, Nung people... and famous places of interest in the region such as the Heaven Gate, Twin Mountains, Quan Ba market,….
In Nam Dam, visitors could participate in unique festivals and ceremonies of the Dao ethnic minority, the most special one is “Le Cap Sac”. The “Le Cap Sac” is the ceremony to recognize adulthood for young men in the village. There are also “Le mung com moi” and “Le cau mua”, wedding ceremonies. At present, there is a performance team of the villagers to perform Dao traditional dance for tourists.
Dao women nowardays still maintain the habit of tailoring and embroiderin traditional costume for themselves and families and also to sell to tourists. The women costumes are decorated with unique patterns along with beautiful silver jewelry such as earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and head scarf; men's dress come with simple berets, chariming bags. Any visitor will want to try on the Dao costumes. In addition to embroidered garments, in Nam Dam, there are local products such as honey, herbal medicine…
Nam Dam has become an atractive destination in the remote area of northen Vietnam. The local people are now more aware of the bestowed natural beauty and cultural values of their village to preserve it better. Those are good signals toward a sustainable development of community-based tourism!

ABOUT US:
We’re traveling full time, living on our own terms and showing you the up-close-and-personal details of us figuring it out along the way. Sometimes it’s about navigating big, life-altering decisions. Sometimes it’s about navigating the seemingly lawless free-for-all that is driving in Hanoi. It’s moments of triumph and moments of panic. The good, the bad, the ugly – and most importantly, the real and real funny.
We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.” Just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem. We believe the world’s a more interesting place when people reject convention in favor of what they actually care about. This is us putting that idea to the test – one budget spreadsheet, RV renovation and mountain-peak drone video at a time.

Ha Giang, Vietnam has something in common with most truly great places; it is just hard enough to get to that it has withstood the ravages of time. The town is an illustration of what can happen when nature flourishes, unsullied.

VIETNAM MOTORBIKE JOURNEY ???????? Ha Giang Northern Loop | Travel Vlog Ep 47
Ha Giang in the most Northern province in Vietnam and it is full of incredible landscapes.
There's a very popular loop that takes you through the mountains and local villages around Ha Giang and OH BOY is it gorgeous!! It's called the Ha Giang Northern Loop and it was my favorite thing I did in Vietnam.
There are plenty of people that buy a motorbike and ride it through the country and sell it before they leave, but here in Ha Giang you can rent one and drive in a big loop. It takes 3 - 4 days depending on the exact route your take.
There are plenty of motorbike rental companies in Ha Giang and they can help you map out your journey. We took a bus from Hanoi and arrived at night so we just found a decent guesthouse and started our adventure the following morning. We just rented motorbikes from the guesthouse we stayed and it seems like many other guesthouses and hotels up there do the same.
If you travel with big bags, no worries - you can just leave your bag wherever you rent a motorbike from and only bring the essentials in a day pack since you'll be coming back there any way it's not necessary to bring all your stuff with you.
