31 October 2015, Vingroup simultaneously held grand openings for two 5-star resorts, Vinpearl Ha Long Bay Resort and Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort & Golf, bringing the total capacity of Vinpearl to 5,000 rooms, the largest resort and hospitality portfolio for any brand in Vietnam. The launch of Vinpearl Ha Long Bay Resort is noteworthy as the first Vinpearl property in Northern Vietnam.
Vinpearl Ha Long Bay Resort covers the entire exclusive Reu Island. The 47,000 sqm GFA hotel has 384 rooms and stunning 360-degree panoramic view of Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Complete with opulent neo-classical design, Vinpearl Ha Long Bay Resort carries a distinctively fresh image to the Vinpearl brand.
In addition to luxury accommodation, Vinpearl Ha Long Bay Resort is a new destination for MICE, with Vinpearl Convention Hall and a professional and attentive team. The Hall has 5 modern conference rooms, able to accommodate events with thousands of participants and all the convention needs from corporate customers.
Vinpearl Ha Long Bay is a reasonably priced 5-star beach getaway only a short 3-hour drive from Hanoi, an outstanding feature sure to be welcomed by residents of the capital. Designed to meet the demands of tourism, entertainment and MICE, this first-of-its-kind facility in North Vietnam will help transform Ha Long from a sight-seeing destination into the first choice for holiday retreats and corporate events.
On the same day, 31 October 2015, Vingroup also launched Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort & Golf, the second phase of Vinpearl’s mega project on Phu Quoc Island. Distinctively styled compared with the first phase of Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort, Resort & Golf is clad in classical beauty, where the exquisite French design is in perfect harmony with European classical decorative touches. The resort boasts 402 guest rooms and 220 international-standard villas, meeting the holiday needs from individual customers to large groups, and accommodating a range of prices from a flexible Bed & Breakfast package to full-board.
Together with the 27-hole Vinpearl Golf Club, Vinpearl Land outdoor amusement park and the upcoming Vinpearl Safari and Conservation Park which is expected to open in December this year, Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort & Golf promises a unique beach holiday experience.
With its diversification of products, competitive pricing and opening more large-scale luxury resorts nation-wide, Vingroup continues to deliver on its promise to bring world-class hospitality products and services closer to the public, fulfilling the mission “To create a better life for the Vietnamese people.” Vinpearl projects are integral to Vingroup’s strategy to promote Vienamese tourism and make the country a favored destination for international visitors.
Additional information:
Vinpearl Hotel Management LLC., a subsidiary of Vingroup, operates and manages 7 resorts in Vietnam under the Vinpearl brand: Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort, Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort & Golf, Vinpearl Da Nang Resort & Villas, Vinpearl Nha Trang Resort, Vinpearl Luxury Nha Trang, Vinpearl Nha Trang Bay Resort & Villas, and Vinpearl Ha Long Bay Resort.
There will soon be 8 properties in the portfolio by the end of this year following the opening of Vinpearl Golf Land Resort & Villas.
How Pearls are Made In HA LONG BAY | VIETNAM
Huge Thanks to Legend Pearl Ha Long Bay for guiding us through this process and being very friendly..!
SCARLET PEARL CRUISE - LUXURY CRUISE TO HALONG BAY AND LAN HA BAY, VIETNAM
Scarlt Pearl is one of the best luxury cruise to Halong bay and Lan Ha bay of Vietnam. don't miss it when you have a chance to visit Vietnam
Ha Long Bay on Dragon's Pearl - Indochina Junk Company
We couldn't believe the CRAZY level of positive reviews for Indochina Junk company without seeing it for ourselves. For those of you looking to cruise Ha Long Bay (Halong Bay), we highly recommend the Dragon's Pearl. It really is that good.
This video shows what you can expect from the 2 day / 1 night cruise package, based on our experience with the same package. We went in early Oct. I left out the room. It was big enough, with a really nice bathroom - for a small boat. Transport both ways from Hanoi was quick and in a modern van with AC and a skilled driver. If you were staying in the same Hanoi hotel before and after your cruise, I would recommend arranging to leave some of your luggage there - rather than drag it all to the boat and back.
We don't normally splurge for items like this and I'm glad we did. I know all of travel is a splurge really. But it really feels like you get exactly your money's worth on The Dragon's Pearl. I wish we had booked the two night. It includes a meal in the cave on the 2nd night.
The crew, ticketing & tour staff as well as our our boatsman were all friendly and constantly helpful. There are actually multiple Dragon's Pearl level junks. A exact copy of our boat toured with us - but with French speaking crew and guests. Neat.
Dragons Pearl, Indochina Junk Review, 3D2N tour @ Halong Bay, Vietnam
This is a basic review of my experience on board the junk Dragons Pearl III with Indochina Junk. Room featured in the video is just the standard double room on the boat.
You cruise through the less traveled Bai Tu Long Bay which is deserted in comparison to the main part of Halong Bay. I would heavily recommend the 3 day 2 night version as you get to enjoy the lovely experience of the dinner in the cave which is great and it is a 4 hour drive from Hanoi each way so you get a lot more time to relax and take it all in.
The food they serve is great and all fresh and local. It is seafood heavy but before you depart they ask you what you prefer and they cater it to all needs(vegetarian or even just chicken based).
We took our trip in May 2014. Looking at their website now it appears they have a large new boat but I would recommend going on their smaller ones which are more traditional junks and feel more cosy.

Some 1,600 islands, thick with greenery, form a maze of channels in the azure waters off northeastern Vietnam. Although people have lived in the region of Ha Long Bay for thousands of years, most of the islands remain uninhabited. But these coves and natural towers are rich with wildlife. For centuries, this spectacular seascape has inspired wonder.
The name Ha Long, Vietnamese for “descending dragon,” is reflected in a legend: Once, when the Viet people faced invasion, a dragon flew down from heaven to their defense. The creature sprayed not only fire, but also jewels that became the green archipelago.
The scientific explanation for the rock formations, known as karst, is also amazing. For millions of years, seashells and sediments fell to an ancient seafloor, forming solid rock. Tectonic activity raised the resulting limestone above water. Rainfall and rivers dissolved exposed rock, and carved valleys that flooded after the last ice age, creating this rare example of a karst field at sea.
Features include lakes and caves through the islands, and notches and tunnels where seawater has worn at the pillars' foundations. The fantastic landscape also continues into two adjacent national parks, on Cat Ba Island and Bai Tu Long Bay.
You can go kayaking, caving, or even take a ride in a seaplane to experience the grandeur of these enchanting tropical islands.

5* LUXURY HALONG BAY CRUISE (ATHENA CRUISE) | Vietnam | Vlog 047
We head from Hanoi to Halong Bay for a trip of a lifetime on an Athena Luxury Cruise (2 day, 1 night) in Bai Tu Long & Halong Bay. We well and truly splurged for this trip but to say it was worth it would be an understatement. Everything from the food to the activities to the room was perfect and we had an amazing time!
We take you with us for the whole journey, do a room tour, show all of the amazing foods and this is only part/day 1! Stay tuned for our next video on the second day of this amazing trip.
Also as it turns out, if you go out of peak season (we went in February) then the crowds that you so frequently hear of in Halong Bay are almost non-existent.
P.s. Watch to the end for the most bloopers yet!

Pearl Farm in Halong Bay
Day 2 of my overnight trip to Halong Bay.
After spending the night on a boat in the middle of Halong Bay, then enjoying the sun rising over the beautiful karsts, we were transported to the Tung Sau Pearl Farm. There we learned about the whole process of how pearls are made inside of oysters and how Halong Bay has the good conditions for producing them.
Then we got to enjoy the sunny day a little longer by cruising around for a bit, then learned how to make spring rolls in Vietnamese style.
Stay tuned for videos coming from Indonesia next.

Halong Bay Luxury Cruise | Signature Cruise
This Halong Bay Luxury Cruise was made possible by:
If you’ve never been to Halong Bay, you need to add taking a luxury cruise through Halong Bay to your bucket list! Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for a good reason. It is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen! It’s filled with giant lime stone karsts that jut out of the water in every direction for miles.
The best way to experience the bay is by a luxury cruise. There are tons of cruise ship operators offering cruises through Halong Bay. The cruises range from cheap backpack boats to five start luxury cruise ships. Since visiting Halong Bay is most likely a once in a lifetime experience, we decided to splurge on a 5 star luxury cruise to ensure that we had the best experience possible!
We booked our cruise with Signature Cruise and we were elated with our experience. Seriously, we don’t have a bad thing to say about Signature Cruises, and that should mean a lot coming from me because when I splurge on an experience I am very critical. Also, the staff treated us like royalty! They made our experience even better.
Our luxurious cruise through Halong Bay started with an amazing lunch served while we were cruising to a floating fishing village. After arriving at the floating village we were rowed around the village in a row boat by one of the women who lived in the floating village. After our row boat ride was completed, we visited a pearl farm to learn how pearls are made. To be completely honest, this sounded kind of lame to me when I read it on the itinerary, but it was actually really interesting!
After leaving the pearl farm, we were taken back to the cruise ship. After an hour or so of relaxing and taking in the beautiful views of Halong Bay, we had a cooking class where we learned to make fresh spring rolls. After the cooking class we enjoyed happy hour with more beautiful views. After happy hour, a delicious five course dinner was served aboard the boat. After dinner I had the opportunity to try my hand at squid fishing. I got really lucky and managed to catch 10!
