We climbed the China yunnan lijiang jade dragon snow mountain(2019)
From Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to old town of Lijiang, you will experience the breathtaking sceneries and cultures.
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (simplified Chinese: 玉龙雪山; traditional Chinese: 玉龍雪山; pinyin: Yùlóng Xuěshān) is a mountain massif or small mountain range in Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, Lijiang, in Yunnan province, China. Its highest peak is named Shanzidou (扇子陡) and is 5,596 m (18,360 ft) above sea level.
The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain massif forms the bulk of the larger Yulong Mountains, that stretch further north. The northwestern flank of the massif forms one side of the Tiger Leaping Gorge (Hutiao Xia, 虎跳峡), which has a popular trekking route on the other side. In this gorge, the Jinsha (upper Yangtze) River descends dramatically between Jade Dragon and Haba Snow Mountain. The Yulong Mountains lie to the south of the Yun Range and are part of Southwest China's greater Hengduan Mountains.[5]
Settlements surrounding Jade Dragon Snow Mountain include Baisha Town to the south, Longpan Township to the west, Daju Township to the northeast, and Jade Water Village at the foot of the mountain to the east

The tiger leaping gorge (Yunnan - China)
(EN) Tiger Leaping Gorge is a canyon on the Yangtze River -- locally called the Golden Sands River (金沙江; Jīnshā Jiāng) -- located 60 km north of Lijiang City, Yunnan in southwestern China. It is part of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas World Heritage Site.
Around 15 km in length, the gorge is located where the river passes between 5,596 metre Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (玉龙雪山; Yùlóng Xuĕshān) and 5,396 m Haba Snow Mountain (哈巴雪山; Hābā Xuĕshān) in a series of rapids under steep 2000 metre cliffs. Legend says that in order to escape from a hunter, a tiger jumped across the river at the narrowest point (still 25 metres wide), hence the name.
Administratively, the river in this area forms the border between Yulong Naxi Autonomous County of Lijiang City (right bank) and Shangri-La County of Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (left bank).
Tiger Leaping Gorge is a contender for the world's deepest river canyon, depending on the exact definition used.[citation needed] The inhabitants of the gorge are primarily the indigenous Naxi people, who live in a handful of small hamlets. Their primary subsistence comes from grain production and foreign hikers. The gorge is not considered navigable. In the early 1980s, four rafters attempted to go down the gorge and were never seen again. In 1986, the first known successful attempt to sail through the gorge was made by the first expedition to float down the entire length of the Yangtze, starting at the river's high source at the Gelandandong glacier lake.
The area was officially opened to foreign tourists in 1993, but had attracted adventurous backpackers already in the 1980s. Officials plan to improve the existing trails and roads, bringing tour buses and more development. These plans arouse highly varied reactions among the local population, from strong opposition to strong support.[1]
Natural crystals are mined from areas in and surrounding the Tiger Leaping Gorge.
(F) Les gorges du Saut du tigre sont un canyon sur le fleuve Yangzi (connu dans cette région sous le nom de Jīnshā Jiāng), situé à 60 km au nord de la ville de Lijiang, dans la province chinoise du Yunnan.

Leaping Tiger Gorge Yunnan. 25 Oct 2019 - VIDEO
Tiger Leaping Gorge (Chinese: 虎跳峡; pinyin: Hǔ tiào xiá) is a scenic canyon on the Jinsha River, a primary tributary of the upper Yangtze River. It is located 60 kilometres (37 mi) north of Lijiang City, Yunnan in southwestern China. It is part of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas World Heritage Site.
Legend says the name comes from a hunted tiger escaping by jumping across the river at the narrowest point (still 25 metres (82 ft) wide), using the rock in the middle.[1][2][better source needed]
At a maximum depth of approximately 3,790 meters (12,434 feet) from river to mountain peak, Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of the deepest and most spectacular river canyons in the world.[3] The inhabitants of the gorge are primarily the indigenous Naxi people, who live in a handful of small hamlets. Their primary subsistence comes from grain production and hikers.

World Premiere - June 22, 2013
This piece portrays the mythical story of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which is located near the Yunnan province of southwestern China. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain were twin brothers who depended on each other for survival. One day a devil from the North came and battled with Jade Dragon and Haba. Haba was killed in the bout, but Jade Dragon drove the devil away in a battle that lasted 2 days and 3 nights, breaking 13 swords in the process. The dynamic qualities of the Flower Pot Drum and Paigu (set of tuned drums) are utilized in Legend of Jade Dragon to depict the battle between Jade Dragon and the devil.

Lijiang's Jade Dragon Snow Mountain - Cloud Fir Meadow (VID00254).AVI
Cloud Fir Meadow affords a fantastic view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain's peaks. It's a remote, tranquil field high up on the mountain with a wood-plank path to keep people from trampling about willy-nilly. Yaks graze there, and apparently it's greener and flower-filled during other parts of the year (this video clip was shot in mid-November). I could have spent all day up there, even in overcast weather. As it happened, the cloud cover began clearing as we were coming down the mountain, and over the course of the next few days we had some lovely views (and took some lovely photos) of the peaks of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Mt. Haba.

But we were alr very lucky to see most of the mountain and catch abitttt of its peak during one of the days. Apparently, we were blessed with the best weather of the month and ppl who came before us can only see clouds, clouds and clouds. YEPPP so no complaintsssss!
