Occasionally I get the time to travel about Japan and check out different sites and places. I thought I would upload them to my youtube channel for other people to have a look and see what life is like here.
This time I went to The Site of Reversible Destiny in Yoro, Gifu. A very special art park. I also went to Sekigahara Warland in Sekigahara, Gifu. It was pretty interesting and full of new experiences! I loved the Figures and the repainted war statues! The Site of reversible destiny was surprisingly interesting. Please check it out!

Japanese Samurai Gun Exhibition | The Gaijin Survival Guide
Every year in the city of Usuki, Japan in the prefecture of Oita, there is a cherry blossom (sakura) festival.
As a castle town with a strong samurai background, a demonstration of samurai-era weapons is performed during the cherry blossom festival, celebrating both the start of a new year, and Usuki itself.
This video shows several blank rounds fired from the weapons that were used in and around Usuki hundreds of years ago.

Samurai Battle Festival with Gackt - Kawanakajima in Joetsu 2013

The Battle of Kawanakajima in 1561 was a large samurai battle in the age of warfare. It was fought between two great warlords - Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin.
Joetsu in Niigata prefecture puts on a yearly celebration of the event because nearby Kasugayama was once a principle castle of Uesugi Kenshin. It was from there that Uesugi marched out to meet in Takeda Shingen in battle.
The last several years Joetsu has been fortunate to have musician star Gackt play as Uesugi Kenshin. Gackt had played the role in the NHK drama Furin Kazan in 2007. This was his 6th appearance at the festival.

Samurai
Samurai , usually referred to in Japanese as bushi or buke , were the military nobility of medieval and early-modern Japan. According to translator William Scott Wilson: In Chinese, the character 侍 was originally a verb meaning to wait upon or accompany persons in the upper ranks of society, and this is also true of the original term in Japanese, saburau. In both countries the terms were nominalized to mean those who serve in close attendance to the nobility, the pronunciation in Japanese changing to saburai. According to Wilson, an early reference to the word samurai appears in the Kokin Wakashū , the first imperial anthology of poems, completed in the first part of the 10th century.
