JR Hirosaki Station, Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture
JR Hirosaki Station is the main gateway for the Hirosaki City in Aomori Prefecture.
Once a famous Castle town for the Tsugaru Clan, nowadays Hirosaki City is known as the largest producer of apples in Japan. Everywhere you walk in the city you see apples being sold in many stores.

Hirosaki Castle Ruins - Front & Back Gate and MonkeyTree!!!
3 clips merged (sorry no time to properly edit - plus it was all 3G2 stuff from my keitai. Anyways, Hirosaki Castle was the residence of the Tsugaru Clan by appointment of the Tokugawa Shogunate. The castle grounds have been turned into a park, so it's a really nice place to spend the afternoon. We came from the samurai family living area, crossed the moat and entered what is now 'the entrance gate.' Presumably there were more than 2 gates in this compound. The second gate is now the exit also has a moat. The final sequence is the サルスベリ or monkey slipping tree. It was so slippery monkeys couldn't climb it.
Yes, you heard that right! It's a freakin' MONKEY TREE!!!
If they had monkeys in the castle grounds, i bet that really ticked off the Lord of Tsugaru Han! Hahahahaha!

Morioka Castle Site Park ( Morioka City )
( National historic site )
Morioka Castle was a beautiful three-story castle which served as the residence of the Nambu lords. Its construction began in 1598, and by 1609, Morioka had developed as a castle town. However, the age of the samurai eventually came to a close, and the castle was demolished in 1874. The site became desolate after the demolition, but it was revived in 1906 as Iwate Park; in 2006, the park was given a new nickname Morioka Castle Site Park to commemorate its 100th anniversary. Though the castle no longer stands today, you can still see the beautiful stone walls throughout the park.
Nitobe Inazo, who wrote Bushido: The Soul of Japan ( 1900 ) , was born just across the river from the park; today, his monument stands in the park. There are many reasons to visit the park throughout the year: the Morioka Cherry Blossom Festival in the spring, the lush green foliage in the summer, the colorful foliage and music festival in the fall, and the illuminated stone walls in the winter.

Breathtaking Aomori - Outside Hotsprings, Wonderful Food, Scenery - bentogeek [HD]
This is what living looks like! Wonderful sunny summer days in Aomori, traveling with a friend. We went to a hotsprings that was outside (and of course normally you shouldnt film in hotsprings, but it was a nature hotsprings with no other guests so I thought it'd be OK to take a quick shot for you all) ...most hot springs in Japan are gender segragated, but this one was so rule it was open for either gender. (And in fact, we were later joined by member of the opposite gender... I hope we don't get weirdos coming to this video because of that!) At the hotel, we got a great meal, so although it's not bento, I included it in this video because I guess you guys like Japanese food in general? Anyway, I doubt most people even read the video descriptions so I should end this here... I hope you can enjoy this vieo! More soon! Please like it and share it or whatever.
