This visual production is a project of Hachinohe Portal Museum “hacchi”, a cultural facility located in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture.
The animation, set in the coastal area of Hachinohe, was created by Asako Ohshima, who has also worked for programs such as NHK [Minna-no-uta].
The story depicts the landscape and life in Hachinohe, from the eyes of a girl called Hamaneko, who came from the planet Nekoryoshka, and Kabu, a black tail gull, employing animations created from textiles.
Production partners include individuals who are close to Hachinohe, such as musician, Satoru Sakamoto, and [Bistrot Pot d’Etain] chef , Yuki Miura. Voices were performed by local Hachinohe residents. It is a unique [local district-oriented animation] that can only be created in Hachinohe. Please enjoy.

일본 혼슈섬 북쪽 끝에 자리 잡은 아오모리현은 ‘푸른 나무숲’이라는 의미처럼 대자연의 아름다움을 만끽할 수 있는 곳이다. 겨울에 눈이 많이 오기로 유명하며, 일본 제일의 사과 수확량을 자랑하는 곳이기도 하다. 나는 우선 역 앞에서 출발해 중심가를 따라 걷기로 했다. 왼쪽 항구 방향에 독특하게 생긴 건물이 눈에 띈다. 알파벳 ‘A’를 본 따 디자인된 15층 높이의 ‘아오모리현 관광물산관’은 도시의 랜드마크 역할을 하고 있다. 1층엔 이 지역의 대표 특산물과 공예품 등을 모아놓은 쇼핑가가 자리잡고 있다. 삼면이 바다로 둘러싸인 지역인 만큼 해산물이 풍부하다. 그중 가리비는 탱탱한 육질과 개운하고 단맛을 자랑하는 아오모리의 대표 해산물이다. 그밖에 다양한 해산물을 재료로 한 가공식품들이 판매되고 있다. 일본 전체 사과 생산량의 절반을 차지하는 지역답게 사과로 만든 가공품들이 아주 많다. 아예 사과 하나를 통째로 구운 사과파이가 재미있다. 사과나무를 재료로 한 손수건, 주머니에 화장품까지...정말 사과로 만들 수 있는 건 여기에 다 있다. 한쪽에 자리 잡은 파이가게에서 나는 달콤한 냄새.갓 구운 파이의 유혹을 뿌리치기 어렵다. 건물 꼭대기의 전망대에 올랐다. 아담한 시내가 한 눈에 들어온다. 아오모리의 상징물 중 하나인 베이브릿지. 바다에 면한 산책길에는 20년 전까지 홋카이도를 오갔던 연락선이 지금은 전시관으로 변신해 있다.

The Hachinohe Sansha Taisai Matsuri 2016
Hachinohe Sansha Taisai is a Japanese festival celebrated from July 31 to August 4 in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. Its rites center on three Shinto shrines: Ogami , Shinra , and Shinmei shrines, hence the name Three Shrines Festival. There is a procession of twenty-seven floats and three mikoshi are also borne through the streets. This festival has been in existence since 1721.
The floats were brilliant in color, creative in design and magnificent in size.
